Melbourne public transport
Types of transport: You can get around Melbourne by train, tram or bus with Public Transport Victoria. Within the city and inner suburbs, trams are the most prevalent transport and can take you to popular sites like Federation Square and St Kilda Beach.
Paying for transport: An electronic Myki card can be bought for $6 and topped up at train stops or local retailers. Trips are free within the CBD free tram zone or $4.10 per trip for transport outside the free tram zone. The Myki card can be used on all trains, trams and buses.
