Flights to the German city of Frankfurt have taken a tumble falling below the $1,000 return mark for trips from four major Australian cities.

These are last-minute fares all-round, all for the same travel dates 29 October - 13 November 2017. They depart Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

The cheapest flights take off from Melbourne, coming up at $941 return on a combo of British Airways and Qantas.

This is closely followed by flights from Perth, which start at $979 return on China Southern and Sydney flights from $987 return on a combo of JAL, British Airways and Qantas flights.

Flights from Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney all include an overnight layover in Tokyo on your way in. This is timed well enough to spend the night in the city before continuing your journey the following morning.

Flights from Perth feature a stopover in Guangzhou, China. The return flight lands in China in the early morning and departs from Perth in the evening, so you too can get out and discover another city while away.

These flights are only available until sold out, which is likely to be within the next few days.

You can search and book them online now on I Want That Flight.
