Fortnite hits 20 million players

Epic Games' crafting-focused third-person shooter Fortnite has smashed another record today, hitting 20 million players across both the original game and its free-to-play Battle Royale mode. Odds are the vast majority of those players are from the latter, of course, but it's an impressive achievement nonetheless. The big question is whether Fortnite will maintain those players when PlayerUnknown's Battlegounds finally launches its Xbox One version on 12 December. Will Xbox players shift from the janky-but-free Fortnite Battle Royale to the paid-but-more-polished PUBG? We'll find out soon enough.

Final Fantasy XV's multiplayer mode will arrive next week

After being delayed from its original October release, Final Fantasy XV: Comrades, the multiplayer expansion to Final Fantasy XV, is now set to arrive next week on Thursday 16 November.

Comrades is an impressively ambitious expansion, veering away from the original game's single-player focus and allowing players to create their own characters and join forces with up to three friends to complete new quests and collect plenty of loot across the kingdom of Lucis. The downloadable expansion is included with Final Fantasy XV's Season Pass or can be purchased separately for an as-yet-unannounced price.
