About Destiny 2: The Witch Queen
Destiny 2: The Witch Queen will be released on 22 February and is the latest expansion of Bungie's highly successful multiplayer FPS Destiny 2. If the RRP of $59.95 seems a bit steep for an expansion, it's because Destiny 2 itself is completely free to play.
Destiny 2 is set in a "mythic science fiction" world, in which gamers play as Guardians, the defenders of Earth's last safe city. In the game, you must fight threats such as alien races, the mythical force known as the Darkness and other players.
The titular Witch Queen is Savathûn, the sister of another major Destiny villain, Oryx. She leads the Hive, an undead species that follow a religion known as Sword Logic, that requires they justify their existence in combat.
Savanthûn and her followers have access to the powers of the Light, the same abilities the Guardians possess. Gamers will have to do battle with Savathûn, her godlike siblings and the murderous race they lead.
The Witch Queen will introduce a new location, Savathûn's Throne World, which will come with a new raid. A pair of additional dungeons will also be added, as well as a new difficulty, "Legendary" and a new weapon, the Glaive, which can be customised by the player. All told, it looks to be an extremely exciting addition to the world of Destiny 2 and will demand the most from you and your equipment.
