Who offers the best price?

On comparing G Adventures and Contiki we found tours to be quite similar on Australia trips. For example, a 16-day tour from Sydney to Cairns costs $2,884 on Contiki while an equivalent 16-day tour starts from $3,469 on G Adventures .

The main reason behind the price difference between these companies is the group size. There are 10-15 travellers in a group on a tour with G Adventures, while Contiki’s group size has a minimum 20 travellers.

On comparing international trips, G Adventures was miles cheaper. For example, a 13-day Greek Island hopping trip with Contiki came up at $2,723 while a similar trip on G Adventures only costs $2,263.

The verdict: Contiki offers better prices on Australian tours but G Adventures is cheaper for worldwide trips.

Cancellation policy: Contiki has a more relaxed cancellation policy than G Adventures.

With Contiki, you’ve to cancel your tour before 45 days from departure to avoid deduction apart from the deposit. With G Adventures, this is 60 days.

If you cancel in the last month from the start of the tour, you can get a refund up to 75% with Contiki but with G Adventures, you lose your full tour cost.
