What is Fuse?

FUSE is the native cryptocurrency of the Fuse protocol. Fuse is a decentralised ecosystem and solutions stack that seeks to accelerate the mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency payments and decentralised finance (DeFi). To achieve this, the Fuse blockchain was developed to offer fast and low-cost payments that can seamlessly integrate with day-to-day activities without the need for third parties. By providing a low-cost alternative to traditional payments, Fuse hopes to encourage businesses worldwide to adopt cryptocurrencies. According to Fuse documentation, the Fuse Network blockchain is fully compatible with the Ethereum ecosystem and serves as the infrastructure backbone of the Fuse platform. The Fuse Network then works in conjunction with the technology stack which is encapsulated within a mobile-centric payment wallet (Fuse Wallet). Fuse Wallet allows both businesses and end-users to complete payments using cryptocurrency tokens. In addition to Fuse Wallet, Fuse offers a suite of DeFi products and tools to accelerate the adoption of the platform. While most DeFi applications appeal to those interested in technology, Fuse aims to serve projects, businesses, and organisations through a streamlined mobile-first infrastructure and toolset. Using the network’s software development kit, developers can create decentralised applications (dApps) that take advantage of Fuse’s low-cost payment mechanisms. The native cryptocurrency coin, FUSE, is integral to the working of the Fuse ecosystem. It is used for all peer-to-peer payments and is required for all transactions that take place within the Fuse Network. In addition, FUSE token holders can vote on governance decisions and stake the token to support the ecosystem and earn rewards.
