Full-service Tokyo flights from $545 return
Taking off from 5 Australian cities, starting from one low price.Jetstar and AirAsia must be sweating pellets at the moment because China Southern has just released a sale on Tokyo flights with a price to rival even budget airlines.
Fares start from $545 return, no matter whether you're flying from Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, with travel dates ranging from 2 January to 18 September. So you can take off for a Japan ski holiday, cherry blossom hunt, summer getaway and more.
Compared to AirAsia, these are cheaper than most Tokyo routes when on sale. However, Jetstar still one-ups this when there's a hot "return for free" sale running as prices can start from $249 return, but outside of this, the numbers can get fairly close – particularly on journeys from Melbourne and Sydney.
On top of competitive prices, China Southern offers 4-star quality and extras, including checked luggage and in-flight meals, without any added fees.
At these prices and with all extras included, there's really no excuse you can make to say no to them for an alternate airline.
They're all available through STA Travel until 29 December 2017.
