Malaysia Airlines Enrich Frequent Flyer Program

Earn miles with your credit card and redeem a variety of rewards when you join the Enrich frequent flyer program

We’re reader-supported and may be paid when you visit links to partner sites. We don’t compare all products in the market, but we’re working on it!

The Enrich program allows members to earn rewards while flying with Malaysian Airlines. You can redeem your Enrich Miles for flight discounts and travel perks so you can make the most of your next holiday.

The Malaysian Airlines Enrich program is affiliated with the oneworld Alliance, broadening the ways you can earn and redeem rewards. The oneworld Alliance is one of the largest global airline alliances, consisting of 15 member airlines and 30 partnered affiliates. With such a breadth of partner airlines, the destinations and flight paths available offer customers more services and value than any single airline can provide on its own. No one airline can offer more than 14,000 daily departures to almost 1,000 destinations across 150 countries as the oneworld Alliance does.

How do I earn the most Enrich Miles with my credit card?

Currently, there aren’t any credit cards in Australia that allow you to directly earn rewards from your credit card into your Enrich account. Instead, you’ll need to choose from any of the suitable credit cards that allow you to transfer your credit card rewards to Enrich Miles.

If you have a credit card that lets you transfer your points to the Enrich program, you can earn Enrich Miles on eligible everyday purchases. The earn rates you can expect will vary from card to card, so see the relevant review pages to confirm these details. Some credit cards also offer bonus points when you sign up, so this could be another way to boost your Enrich Miles account once you transfer the points.

What you need to consider when choosing a card to earn Enrich Miles

A number of Australian banks provide credit cards that allow you to transfer points to the Enrich program. The features and fees of each card vary, so it’s important to compare your options before deciding.

American Express
  • Annual fee. Depending on the card, the annual fee can be free or it could cost you up to $1,200. Make sure that the annual fee doesn’t outweigh the value of the rewards, otherwise it won’t be worth it.
  • Earn rate. 1,000 Membership Rewards points = 1,000 Enrich Miles (Australia).
  • Other partnered airlines. American Express is also partnered with Qantas and Virgin within Australia.
Citi cards
  • Annual fee. The most basic card available comes with no annual fee and the most platinum card has an annual fee of $700. Consider how much you’ll spend on the card and whether the value of the rewards offsets the fee.
  • Earn rate. Citi Visa and Mastercard credit cards offer an earn rate of 7,000 Citi Reward Points per 1,000 Enrich Miles.
  • Other partnered airlines. Citi is also linked to Emirates and Qantas.
  • Earn rate. The earn rate is 8,000 Rewards Points to 1,000 Enrich Miles
  • Other partnered airlines. Earn air miles through purchases that can be redeemed via personal internet banking.
  • Annual fee. The Westpac Altitude card is the only card from Westpac that can be connected to your Enrich account and has an annual fee of $100. This isn’t too high, but you’ll still want to calculate whether the rewards outweigh the cost.
  • Earn rate. The earn rate is 2,000 Altitude Points to 1,000 Enrich Miles.
  • Other partnered airlines. Westpac is partnered with Qantas, Virgin and Singapore Airlines.
  • Annual fee. The Amplify card is also St.George’s only Enrich-linked card and has an annual fee of $89. It shouldn’t be hard to redeem rewards more than this annual fee, but it’s still important to consider these fees beforehand.
  • Earn rate. St.George has an earn rate of 2,000 Amplify Points to 1,000 Enrich Miles.
  • Other partnered airlines. St.George is linked with the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.
  • Other conditions. You must redeem a minimum of 3,000 Amplify Points with additional increments in multiples of 500 points at a time.

How you could benefit from a frequent flyer credit card

  • Points earnings

Not only will you be able to earn points in Australia, you can also earn points on purchases made with your card overseas. You will be able to acquire points through flights, accommodation, car rentals and everyday purchases.

  • What rewards you can redeem

The Enrich program offers a range of rewards for its customers. You can use your miles to book flights, upgrade your flight to premium class, or purchase a companion seat. A companion award allows you to redeem fewer miles than normally required for a Business or First Class seat for a companion travelling on the same itinerary as you. There are also other flight-related options, including vouchers that can be redeemed on extra baggage allowance, inflight shopping or air lounge access.

  • Bonus points offers

You can earn Bonus Points by making purchases with one of the lifestyle partners, including Agoda, Federal Hotels International, Digital World of Riches, and Saujana Hotels and Resorts. Bonus Points are also offered from oneworld Alliance partners and in-store purchases.

  • Other frequent flyer credit card benefits

By being a frequent flyer credit card holder, you will also be able to save on travel insurance, currency conversion fees and overseas ATM fees. Travelling can often feel like you are exploring airports more than the streets of foreign countries. Frequent flyer credit cards that offer access to airport lounges will make your time at the airport that little bit more enjoyable.

The Malaysian Airlines Enrich Frequent Flyer rewards program offers a number of benefits to customers. If the flight plans and benefits of Malaysian Airlines suit your travelling needs, then this program might be of value to you. Each of the frequent flyer programs available offer different benefits and drawbacks, so compare your options before settling on one to ensure you find the most valuable program for you.

How can I add my wife as a nominee to my enrich program so that she can redeem flights? Is there any fee to pay?

      Hi Yiu,

      Thanks for reaching out.

Although you can redeem Enrich Miles for someone else such as your wife and children (but it doesn’t have to be a family member), I’m afraid that Malaysia Airlines has no household membership options, so it’s not possible to add your wife to your Enrich program. If you wish to redeem flights for your wife, please log into your Enrich account.

      Hi KL to Singapore,

Thanks for your question. Just to confirm though that you’ve reached – a comparison website, not actually Enrich / Malaysian Airlines.

If you wish to claim your missing miles, you will need to log into your account with Enrich at the Enrich website, then fill out the relevant form under “Claim Missing Miles”.

Be sure to retain your original travel documents like boarding passes and ticket stubs and partner receipts (i.e. hotel receipts, copy of car rental agreement and other invoices/receipts/statements from other partners) as you will need this to complete the Missing Enrich Miles Claim Form online.

      Hope this is helpful.

      Hi Marjorie,

      Thanks for your comment.

Please note that is a financial comparison and information service and we do not represent Malaysia Airlines.

I suggest that you directly contact Malaysia Airlines to follow up the status of your card. I’ve sent you an email with their contact details, for your convenience.
