FREE: Get an unlimited data mobile plan for $0

felix is coming in hot with another deal for October that's hard to look past.
felix mobile's hyped up unlimited data mobile plan is yours for the taking at no cost, at least for the first month.
This isn't a drill. It's not often that mobile providers decide to give you a month off paying your bill (it's mostly NBN plans that offer free Internet for a month these days) so this news is music to our ears.
What's so great about felix's unlimited data mobile plan?
felix is one of two providers in Australia to offer a truly unlimited data mobile plan – the other being Vodafone.
Opting for felix means you're paying $35 monthly (after your first free month) for no data cap and up to 20Mbps mobile Internet speeds. While the plan is speed-capped, these speeds are still fast enough for browsing and standard streaming on the go.
On the flipside, Vodafone's unlimited data mobile plan might not come with any speed caps, but it costs a hefty $85 a month. If you're keen to stick to a budget, felix is the better option. In short:
- There's no data allowance to worry about, no excess charges to lose sleep over.
- You get the same access to Vodafone's network as a regular Vodafone plan, but for a cheaper price.
- felix is 100% carbon neutral. It also plants 1 tree every month for every active subscription.
- You can pause your subscription whenever you want, or leave as there's no locked-in contract.
- Refer a friend and get another free month off if they sign up. You can refer up to 12 friends, so start making calls!
Keen to get this offer? Head over to the felix website. You'll see the offer and promo code clearly displayed.
This free month offer was only available until 31 March 2023.
Is there a catch with felix's unlimited data mobile plan?
There are no sneaky terms and conditions with this deal. felix's mobile plan is simple and doesn't have any strings attached to it.
However, there are still a couple of things to watch out for:
- Out of the 3 networks (Telstra and Optus being the other 2), Vodafone offers the least amount of coverage in Australia. Make sure you get good signals at your property so you're aren't prancing around the house looking for a sweet spot.
- 20Mbps speeds should be fine for most people, but may not be enough for you if you need to download heavy files and do lots of video calling when you're out (especially if reception is patchy). To compare, Vodafone's unlimited data mobile plan can get you up to 50Mbps 4G speeds.
- Since felix is digital only, you won't be able to chat to a customer service representative over the phone. If you prefer old-school customer service, you may want to look elsewhere.
Are there any other mobile plan deals in October worth considering?
If you aren't 100% sold on felix, we do have other offers for October worth considering – especially if you're after more data.
For example, we have a Finder exclusive with amaysim that'll cost you only $10 per 28 days for 50GB with unlimited data banking.
This low price will remain steady for your first 3 renewals before going up to $35. The same plan on amaysim's website costs $40 per recharge, with no sign-up offer.
