Fred. Olsen unveils exclusive 2018 Europe river cruises
Premier cruise line Fred. Olsen knows the only way to travel.
Fred. Olsen is one of Norway's premier cruise lines, and hailing from the home of the some of the world's most beautiful fjords and rivers, it's no surprise that river cruises have always been one of its fortes.
On 17 May 2017, this operator unveiled the next generation of river cruising experiences aboard the Brabant, making its 2018 season public. The new plans are designed to make full use of the Brabant, for international river cruising on some of Europe's most renowned waterways, including the Danube, Moselle and Rhine, as well as forays into Amsterdam and other river-accessible cities of Europe.
Unlike ocean liners which are often built for sheer volume, the Brabant is, by necessity and design, a much smaller and more intimate vessel, with fewer than 80 rooms and suites, but a full compliment of 40 staff members to deliver unparalleled service.
It doesn't ply the open ocean, so guests can find plenty of open views on board, to better take in the forests and European countryside. This openness and free-view is fully incorporated in the vessel's design, with wide-open decks and spacious public areas.
The view remains while indoors, where the juliette balconies and panoramic windows give the sensation of reclining by a country house window, made all the more familiar by cherry wood interiors. Fred. Olsen typically caters to adults guests and the cuisine is designed to reflect the British palate, while all exchanges are conducted in pounds sterling. Formal wear is encouraged at meals and lovers of old-style cruising find a lot to recommend in Fred. Olsen.
The typical five night Brabant river cruise might cost around £749 for two adults sharing a room. The Brabant's 2018 season, for river cruises between April and November 2018, goes on sale on 26 May 2017.
Availability is very limited for this vessel, so you might want to be ready to pounce when tickets are released.
The Brabant's 2018 river cruise itinerary features trips including:
- Düsseldorf to Amsterdam
- Germany's Düsseldorf to Nuremburg domestic river cruise
- Nuremburg to Budapest, Hungary
- Budapest to Hirsova, Romania
- Düsseldorf to Basel, Switzerland
- Hirsova to Düsseldorf
