Way back in 2015, Frank Body broke into the skincare game. The brand produced a number of body scrubs, and then branched into products specifically for your face. Frank's face oil was my personal favourite.
Now, Frank Body is back with a new addition to its line-up. Introducing the Brightening Vitamin C Mask. On the Frank Body website, the brand describes the product as:
"An active Brightening Vitamin C Mask that multitasks. Natural and cruelty-free, I'm packed with vitamin-C-rich Kakadu Plum to reveal your brightest, clearest skin. I dissolve your top layer of dead, dull, damaged skin with papaya and pineapple extract, along with Lactic, Glycolic and Salicylic Acids. A sophisticated formula, I've got more than one move. Use my vitamin C for acne hyperpigmentation, scarring and fine lines. You don't need that overpriced serum. Or that beauty filter."
So in other words, this product sounded like it should make my skin glow like never before, and I was 100% down for that.
The instructions for the serum state that you should cleanse your skin prior to use, then follow up with the mask. I applied a thick layer to my face and rubbed in circular motions for 30 seconds, as per the instructions.
You leave the mask on for 5-10 minutes and for me, this was probably the only downfall of the product. I personally either like to wash a product off straight away (like with a cleanser) or leave it on for a minimum of 20 minutes. Masks that only last for 5-10 minutes just feel super short to me and when I put a mask on I really like to live the self-care fantasy by reading a book or watching an episode of Schitt's Creek with a cheeky glass of red while I wait.
However, in saying that, this could be your favourite thing about the product if you like a mask that's done and dusted in just a few minutes. If you're short on time, Frank Body's mask could be a real lifesaver.
After just one application of the mask, I could instantly tell that my skin was softer. When it was on my face, I could really feel my skin soaking up all the mask's goodness, so it came as no surprise that my skin was instantly improved.
This mask definitely does give you an instant glow too. If you're heading out and want to have bright dewy skin, this is definitely something to throw into your routine.
It does also have a little bit of a rubbery smell to it, so if that's something that would completely turn you off a product, it's important to take note.
I've been using this product for about a month now and I can definitely see a difference in my skin. This isn't one of those products that causes your skin to get worse before it gets better (don't you hate that?), but you do need to consistently use it to see more results.

My face definitely felt a hell of a lot smoother and I've noticed a lot less breakouts. I still have the occasional hormonal pimple here and there, but there isn't too much you can do about those I'm afraid.
Your skin does feel a little tight after use but you should always follow up and finish your skincare routine with a moisturiser anyway. If you're applying this product in the morning, you will definitely need to make sure you apply SPF afterwards too.
I personally don't have any acne scarring so I can't comment on that aspect of this product, but according to the brand, because of "the active AHAs, it's the best vitamin C mask for acne scars."
Here's where I decide that I really love this product. It's only $19.95.
One pump is enough to literally do your whole face and this product is SO affordable. Other similar products sit at a much, much higher price point, so if you're on the lookout for a brightening vitamin C mask, I would really recommend this one.
This product is available to purchase direct from the Frank Body website, or you can also shop a range of Frank Body products at MECCA.
For months I haven't been able to escape this little yellow tube on Instagram, so I decided to bite the bullet and give it a red hot go.
