If you're already paying for Foxtel's top subscription TV tier, you've now got all of Presto to play with for no extra charge.
Foxtel has announced that from today, any customers on its top tier Platinum subscription tier will automatically also get a subscription to Foxtel's jointly owned streaming media service Presto for its Entertainment bundle. The deal is set to run through until at least 31 January 2017, and applies as long as you stay on the Platinum pricing tier.
The Presto Entertainment bundle combines Presto's Movies and TV packages for streaming devices including PCs, Macs, Apple's iPad, Google Chromecast, selected Android tablets, Samsung smart TVs and Apple TV via Airplay.
From a straight dollars point of view it's not the most stunning inclusion, as a direct Presto Entertainment subscription runs to $14.99 a month, and the deal is only open to Platinum Foxtel subscribers, not those on other entertainment package tiers. At the time of writing, Foxtel's Platinum HD package costs $134.99 per month after an introductory $25 first month.
There's also likely to be a certain amount of duplication between the programs available on Presto and Foxtel's Foxtel Go application, which is included for all Foxtel subscribers. However, there are some exclusives on Presto, such as Let's Talk About and the upcoming Home & Away special that are Presto exclusives, and content typically is available for longer on Presto.
