What trading platforms are available?

Trade from your computer, internet browser or mobile device. The City Index app for Apple and Android devices provides chart live streaming, full access to markets and live updates. More comprehensive features can be accessed by downloading a City Index trading platform such as Advantage Trader Pro or MetaTrader 4.

Advantage Trader Pro

View detailed charting, create custom alerts and indicators. AT Pro allows you pick from hundreds of pre-built algorithms and strategies so you can set an automatic trading strategy. Code your own trading strategies using the AT Pro Development Studio for further customisation. AT Pro is compatible with desktop computers running Windows 7 operating system or later.

Advantage Web

A browser-based trading platform which lets you create watch lists, view detailed charts, track prices and trade in 37 spot forex markets. Advantage Web is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems and most browsers.

MetaTrader 4

Download the MT4 trading platform to your desktop to take advantage of features such as expert advisors, custom leverage and mobile trading.

One of the world’s most popular trading platforms, City Index forex traders get exclusive access to MT4 Enhanced features such as customisable leverage and price tolerance for better trades on a volatile market. City Index traders also get access to MT4 on tablet and mobile devices.

How do I sign up?

You can create a live trading account or download a demo account before you start trading with real funds.

Open a City Index forex live trading account in minutes by entering your personal and contact details on the registration page. You need to enter your name, address, date of birth and contact information such as your email and phone number. You’re also required to verify your identity using your medicare card, passport or driver's licence, and give some information about your forex trading experience before completing the registration process.

Alternatively, you can download a demo trading account by entering your name, email and phone number. You can use the demo account for 14 days to practice forex trading with AUD10,000 virtual funds. You can re-apply after 14 days if you want to continue practice trading using the demo account.

How do I make a payment to my account?

Use BPAY, a bank transfer or credit card payment to fund your account. Once you’ve logged in to your account, click on the accounts tab and look for the "Fund Your Account" option. If you’re making a BPAY payment or bank transfer, you can find the bank details for City Index within the "Account" section of your trading platform.

The account the you’re using to make a payment must be in your name; payments will not be accepted from a third party.

What are the system requirements to use the Advantage Web platform?

Desktop computers using Windows XP and above can use the browser-based platform, as can Macs running OSX 10.5x or newer.

What are the BPAY payment details?

You can fund your City Index trading account by making a BPAY payment.

Make a payment before 3pm so funds will be available to use for trading by the next business day.
