It was yesterday when AirAsia dropped the price of last-minute fares to Vietnam, but today is a new day and with it comes a new sale.

This time it is a 48-hour blitz on flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Perth to various Asian destinations. These include Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Phuket, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.

Similar to its Vietnam sale, this is a last-minute affair with flights available between 23 February to 31 March 2017 only.

Impulse trip, anyone?

Prices in this flash sale start from $129 one-way. This is for its Perth to Kuala Lumpur route.

As AirAsia is only advertising one-way prices on its site, we did a little digging to find the cheapest return fares available. Among the bargains we found trips from Perth to Kuala Lumpur from $212 flying 23 February to 4 March, Perth to Phuket from $229 return flying 26 February to 5 March, Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur from $336 return flying 7 to 14 March and Sydney to Phnom Penh from $425 return flying 27 February to 5 March 2017.

Different dates have different prices, so you'll have to be flexible if you want to cash in on the cheapest flights. To find these, look for the "promo" tag attached to the fare when searching on the AirAsia website.

All flights incur a processing fee of up to $10. This can be avoided by making your purchase using PayPal.

There is a mandatory stopover in Kuala Lumpur on all AirAsia flights.

AirAsia is a budget airline and its lowest fares do not include extras such as baggage and on-board meals and beverages. These can be added during the booking process for an additional fee.

This sale is available for 48 hours only and ends at 3:00 AEDT on 4 February 2017 unless sold out prior.
