If sunnier skies are calling you this winter, the Cook Islands have sunkissed shores by the bucket load. And right now Air New Zealand can have you lazing on the beach for less with its stellar sale on flights to Rarotonga.

The cheapest fare will take you from Sydney to Rarotonga for $269 each way. As Air New Zealand is the only airline to offer direct flights between Sydney and Rarotonga, these aren't just the cheapest flights, they're also the fastest. Competing airlines such as Virgin Australia offer similar flights for over $200 (based on flight prices for 5 January 2018).

Departures from Melbourne and Brisbane are also available. These include a stopover in Sydney and start at $404 each way.

Valid travel dates for flights at these prices are from 4 August 2017 to 29 March 2018, giving you a wide variety of travel options, from a winter escape to a summer getaway. Peak periods, including school holidays and Christmas and New Year, are excluded from the sale.

These fares don't include checked luggage. If you require baggage, you can purchase a seat+bag combination for $30 more, which allows you to carry 23kg of checked luggage with you.

This sale ends 21 July 2017 unless seats sell out prior. Tickets can be booked at these prices through Flight Centre.
