You can now fly return to the UK from two cities in Australia from $981.

Flights to London from Australia have now dipped below $1000, and you can fly return to the UK from Melbourne from $981 or Sydney for just $995.

These fares with Vietnam Airlines, found through I Want That Flight, are available for travel in October and November.

Being routed through Ho Chi Minh City the journey does take about 30 hours each way, but does cost up to $300 less than the next cheapest fares routed through China (which only save about three hours of travel time).

The stopover in Vietnam is during the day and ranges from 8-11 hours, which does leave enough time to leave the airport. However, Australian citizens would require a visa to do so.

By way of comparison, these fares are just $120 more than flying just to Ho Chi Minh City return.
