Paradise has a price... but it's less than you think.

Sorry, this sale is no longer running. Check our list of current flight sales to find a bargain!

Full-service carrier Virgin Australia is whisking us away from our 9-5 lives and taking us to paradise for cheap with its latest flight sale.

Aptly named Paradise on Sale, fares to numerous islands across Virgin's network have been slashed, with flights to Fiji being one of the best sales on offer. Those flying from Sydney are lucky enough to get the cheapest fares, which start at $259 each way. If you're flying in from elsewhere, fares aren't too much more, with flights from Brisbane starting at $265 each way and flights from Melbourne starting at $325 each way.

Those who prefer to fly more luxuriously also have the option of booking discounted business class fares. These start at $605 each way for Sydney departures.

This sale covers travel dates from 8 August 2017 to 26 March 2018, although, as to be expected, peak holiday periods are excluded from the sale.

Compared to budget airlines that fly a similar route, these fares are only slightly dearer. For example, currently, Jetstar flights from Sydney to Fiji in November are going for $417 return when booked through I Want That Flight. This means you're paying around $100 extra to fly with Virgin, though you'll still need to pay extra for checked baggage and in-flight meals and entertainment with Jetstar if required, which could make Virgin Australia's flights even more appealing.

These Fiji flights, as well as other discounted island fares, are available to book through Virgin Australia from now until midnight 12 July 2017.
