See New York over autumn and winter for under $900.

Philippine Airlines is making travel to the USA super cheap lately.

Earlier today we saw flights to Los Angeles with the airline from $801 return and the carrier also has sale flights to New York City from $811.

The cheapest flights from major cities to NYC in this sale are: Brisbane and Darwin from $807, Sydney from $811 and Melbourne from $814. Sample dates include 24 September to 10 October, 3 October to the 17 and 24 September to 10 October.

As a general rule, flights often get more expensive in the holiday period. This deal, however, is a rule breaker in more ways than one. Firstly, it's a jaw-dropping round trip price to get to New York and back for any time of year, and secondly it takes a detour through Manila on the way to get you there a little bit slower but a lot cheaper, with Philippine Airlines.

To give you an idea of just how much you can save simply by making a slight detour, direct flights often run into thousands of dollars. If you want to arrive in New York, arguably the shopping capital of the whole world, with more money in your pocket it's well worth spending some a little bit of time to save a small fortune.

New York is a naturally a popular destination, and a busy flight route, so finding airfares like these aren't easy, especially in travel season. Depending on your chosen flight, the layover can vary in time so you can choose beforehand whether you want to get in and out, or take some time to explore the warm capital city of Manila before departing for a white New York winter.

Start planning your dream vacation now, and book ahead to save even more, as well as lock in your plans in the city that never sleeps.

These flights aren't part of a particular promotion and are available until sold out.
