Flamingo Finance is a decentralised finance (DeFi) application that aims to be a one-stop shop for DeFi products. The DeFi application is built on and powered by the Neo blockchain. Neo is an open-source decentralised network that seeks to serve as a platform where anyone can transact and create decentralised products and services – a direct competitor to Ethereum. According to Flamingo’s website, thanks to its interoperability, the application can onboard cryptocurrencies from several other blockchains including BTC, USDT, ETH and ONT. The application is composed of 5 different modules: Swap, Wrap, Vault, Perp and DAO. Swap handles all market-making in the exchange. Wrap facilitates the interoperability of cross-chain assets. Vault is a platform for managing mining, staking and collateralised stablecoin issuance. Perp is a platform that offers perpetual futures trading and, finally, the Decentralised Autonomous Organisation (DAO) provides community involvement. This may entail token economics or voting on development aspects of the previous 4 modules. Flamingo, or FLM, is the governance token of the Flamingo Finance platform. FLM is based on NEO’s NEP-5 token standard and is secured by the Neo blockchain. It can be used for governance in the DAO, for staking cross-chain assets, staking LP tokens and minting the Flamingo USD stablecoin, FUSD.
