FIRST LOOK: Balmain-designed Victoria’s Secret wings

Victorias Secret Wings

Every angel needs their wings, and these ones are a little more punk than you might expect.

The Victoria's Secret fashion show is renowned for five things: incredible lingerie, gigantic musical performances, the iconic jewel bra, unbelievably fit models – and wings. So many wings. Wings of every size, style and design.

We reported in October that this year's Victoria Secret Fashion show is being led by Balmain, and from the looks of this first glimpse at one of this year's wings, they're definitely staying true to their edgier roots.

Modelled by Jasmine Tookes in a video for Vogue US, the debut wings are made entirely out of safety pins, giving them the illusion of floating due to the constant glimmering movement.

It's definitely a punk vibe and Tookes herself even acknowledges it, revealing that the wings make up part of a whole segment called Punk Angels.

"My wings are made completely out of safety pins," she said. "They’re like really badass.”

The show will be held on the 29 November, so it isn't too long now until we can get a look at the other angels' wings – and we're excited to see a lot more of this punk vibe!
