Spriggy helps families teach kids about money in a digital age. Through a purpose-built app and prepaid cards for kids, young people get the opportunity to make their own spending and saving decisions, learning through real-world practice.
What has been the company's biggest milestone to date?
There's so many! Our first family was an extraordinary feeling. Our 50,000th user was a different kind of thrill. I take a lot of pride in the team we've built; they're an inspiration to work with every day and sharing the wins with them is something I love about what we do. Sharing the honour of the finder Awards' Best Banking Innovation and Most Innovative Team was a real highlight in 2017.
What’s your most useful advice for having a productive day?
Anyone who knows me will tell you I am a compulsive list maker, but honestly, the best thing you can do is be happy and positive. If you find a way to bring that to a work day, everything else follows.
Where do you see the company in 12 months?
We've got big plans for next year. It's been extraordinary to hear mums and dads tell us how much Spriggy has done for their family. We want to bring those experiences to the whole country and help every family in Australia teach kids happy and healthy financial habits. Expect big growth from us in 2018.
Which book has had the most influence on your professional mindset?
Moby Dick. I think you have to be a little bit crazy to start a business. If there isn't something obsessive that drives you, I don't know how you can fight through the winds that blow against bold visions. I read the book when I was 16 and it was nice to know I wasn't alone. Here's hoping for a happier ending for our story.
