fintechFIVE: Six Park
Director of business development
In two sentences or less, describe your product or service.
Six Park is a robo advisor that has a high-calibre advisory committee with decades of financial experience overseeing all of our investments. We automate many of the processes that traditional financial advisors charge for, which allows us to deliver investment management services at a significantly lower cost.
What has been the company's biggest milestone to date?
Four months ago we launched Australia’s only robo-driven SMSF (self-managed super fund) service alongside our partners, which aids in SMSF set-up, administration and investment. The new offering makes SMSFs more cost-effective and accessible and provides much-needed investment diversification to more Australians.
What’s your most useful advice for having a productive day?
I'm a big believer in the power of habit and routine. I try to get up early most mornings to get some exercise done before breakfast. This works for me as I'm definitely a morning person, but I know other people can be more productive at night. I've found that establishing a healthy daily routine is incredibly helpful when you're working in a fast-paced young company like Six Park.
Where do you see the company in 12 months?
Although we're a relatively new company, we have quickly cemented our position as one of Australia's leading automated advice services. In the next year, we will quadruple our assets managed, secure several strategic partnerships and roll out several new vertical solutions. We will be the trusted advisor of choice, known for our innovation, people, investment returns and value-for-money proposition.
Which book has had the most influence on your professional mindset?
Good to Great is a well-known book that we speak about pretty regularly within the Six Park team. The author Jim Collins uses a great analogy of pushing a flywheel over and over to grow a successful business and culture. It's all about doing things consistently well to create and build the momentum. As a business, we're always looking for ways to improve and we think Good to Great is a fantastic guide for how we would like to grow our business.
