In two sentences or less, describe your product or service.

MYOB make tools to help businesses succeed. There are so many facets these days to running a business and many of them are time-consuming and take you away from what you really want to do most – which is run your business. So, we have products to help you track your cash flow, submit your tax returns, pay your employees, receive payments from customers, invoice clients, and so on.

What has been the company's biggest milestone to date?

MYOB has been in business for over 25 years and there have been many amazing milestones along that journey. I measure my personal success with how many people I can reach and help with technology and a few years ago MYOB crossed over the one million customers mark. To be able to have such a broad and beneficial impact on businesses and the Australian economy at large is a real honour.

What’s your most useful advice for having a productive day?

The way I think about productivity is not as much about my own, but about those around me. Let’s say for example I had a great work day and scored myself an 8/10 points for productivity. That’s not bad and anyone would be happy with that – but that’s not what I want. What I’d rather do is help add 3 points to each of the 15 people around me on my team. Productivity to me is about leveraging yourself to improve your company as a whole.

Where do you see the company in 12 months?

We have some pretty exciting big and innovative new features in the pipeline we are working on right now. I can’t wait till they are all in the hands of clients. They are going to streamline a lot of day to day work for businesses.

Which book has had the most influence on your professional mindset?

It’s not a single book, but probably the category of technology entrepreneur biographies that have made me think most about my career. People like Mark Zuckerberg, Carly Fiorina, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos. Find the people in your industry who have made it big and see if you can find a thread in what they have done.
