In two sentences or less, describe your product or service.

Invoice2go is a mobile app that makes it easy for small business owners and freelancers to track work and get paid; enabling them to send great-looking, professional invoices on the spot, collect online payments and save, on average, three hours per week and get paid up to seven days faster. Invoice2go is the number one mobile invoicing app in the App Store and is trusted by more than 250,000 small businesses to send more than $1 billion in invoicing every month.

What has been the company's biggest milestone to date?

Since bootstrapping my business in 2002, we’ve passed many fantastic milestones which have helped shaped Invoice2go into the company it is today. From raising $50 million in funding to growing our team to 100 people, and surpassing one million invoices sent through our app every month. The most exciting milestone for me, however, was when we launched the ability to accept debit and credit cards straight through the invoice. That’s made a huge difference to small businesses, who previously had to jump through hoops in order to set up a merchant account. Now they’re up and running in minutes and getting paid faster than ever before.

What’s your most useful advice for having a productive day?

Get yourself away from distraction. I started my business from the Central Coast, which automatically set me away from the noise of a bigger city, and helped me focus on nothing but my business. Either learn how to say no to everything that takes you away from your number one goal, or put yourself in a situation where you don’t have any temptations in the first place.

Where do you see the company in 12 months?

For the past year, we’ve been working behind the scenes to rebuild Invoice2go, and will soon be launching an all new app that’s faster, easier to use and more reliable than ever before. It’s an exciting time for us because it means we’ll be able to develop new features faster than before and to keep delivering new ways to make small business owners’ lives simpler.

Which book has had the most influence on your professional mindset?

Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson.
