BRICKX revolutionises property investment. This Australian-first provides affordable access to residential real estate – an asset class which is out of reach for many people. BRICKX buys property in blue chip areas, puts it into a trust and divides it into 10,000 units (or what we call “Bricks”) and then allows retail investors to buy those Bricks. As an owner of Bricks, investors are eligible to earn their share of any monthly rental income and also potential capital returns (each property is revalued every six months). Investors can list their Bricks for sale at the time of their choosing using our online Platform, BRICKX.com.

What has been the company's biggest milestone to date?

BRICKX has provided a way to access the property market for more than 7,800 investors since launching in September 2016. We are proud to be helping people with an entry point often less than $100. Half of our investors are under the age of 35 and of that group, three-quarters have never owned real estate so we're proud of that.

What’s your most useful advice for having a productive day?

Have a plan for the day and tackle the most difficult items first. They’ll be the easiest ones to put off, and as things come up during the day, you will put them off. Tackling them first will give you a strong sense of achievement early on, which will carry you on to have success through the rest of the day.

Where do you see the company in 12 months?

We’re working on some amazing product features which we hope are going to make it even easier for Australians to be able to access investment in the property market. It’s all a bit top secret right now but watch out for how we might be helping to solve housing affordability.

Which book has had the most influence on your professional mindset?

The Hard Thing About Hard Things by Ben Horowitz is a great book which I regularly come back to. It highlights the high highs and low lows a successful entrepreneur may experience and reminds me that resilience and perseverance are two of the most important skills in achieving great things.
