finder Rewards Roundup: Qantas, KrisFlyer, CommBank, Velocity
From bonus points to flight vouchers, get closer to your dream holiday with Qantas, KrisFlyer, CommBank and Velocity.
This week’s rewards roundup gives you more reasons to sign up for that frequent flyer program or credit card you’ve been eyeing off. Plus, if you have a heap of reward points stashed, we’ll show you how to use them to get more Qantas Points for your money with the airline’s latest offer.
Join the KrisFlyer frequent flyer program and score 500 bonus miles
If you’re a frequent flyer, Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer loyalty program is one of Australia’s favourite ways to collect points on international flights. If you’re not already a member, KrisFlyer’s latest deal may give you the push you need to apply.
If you apply by 14 April 2017, you’ll receive a welcome gift of 500 bonus KrisFlyer miles within 48 hours of opening your account. You just need to enter the promo code JOINKF2017 in the “KrisFlyer registration promotion” section at the end of the application form. This promo isn’t just open to new KrisFlyer members either. If your KrisFlyer account has expired and you wish to sign up again, you’ll also receive the bonus points. Plus, there’s no fee when you sign up, so you really have nothing to lose.
Transfer your credit card rewards to earn 30% more Qantas Points
If you have a credit card or charge card with a rewards program that links to a Qantas Frequent Flyer account, you’ll have more reason to move your points in March. This month, if you transfer your reward points to your frequent flyer account, you can receive up to 30% more bonus Qantas Points.
Exactly how many bonus points you can collect will depend on how many points you’re moving across.
|Points transfer amount||Bonus points|
|1,000,000 Qantas Points or more||30% more Qantas Points|
|350,000 to 999,999 Qantas Points||25% more Qantas Points|
|Up to 349,999 Qantas Points||15% more Qantas Points|
The more points you transfer between 1 and 31 March 2017, the bigger your bonus points bounty. While there are only a limited number of credit cards that allow you to transfer rewards points to Qantas Points, you can do so with cards such as the American Express Platinum Charge card, the Westpac Altitude Business Gold credit card and the Altitude Business Platinum card. However, these promotions are usually targeted at credit card holders who've previously transferred their reward points to Qantas Points. You can transfer your points via your credit card provider’s website.
This isn’t the first time that Qantas has hosted a 30% bonus points transfer offer, but it is only available for a limited time. This is an easy way to boost your Qantas Points balance if you have reward points stashed from your credit card purchases, so get to it before the offer expires.
Apply for a CommBank credit card for your chance to win a $5,000 Flight Centre voucher
Could your next credit card be the key to your dream holiday? No, we’re not talking about paying for your next trip on credit. If you apply and are approved for a Commonwealth Bank credit card by 30 April 2017, you’ll have a chance to win a $5,000 Flight Centre voucher. When each applicant applies, they’ll be placed into a weekly draw to win a voucher. This competition applies to all Commonwealth Bank credit cards, meaning you're in for a chance to win whether you’re looking for a low rate credit card or an Awards or business credit card. There are eight gift cards in total to be won and, as the saying goes, you've gotta be in it to win it.
As your chances of winning will depend on how many people apply for a Commonwealth Bank credit card over the next two months, your decision to apply shouldn’t be swayed purely by the hopes of winning one of the $5k vouchers. Instead, make sure you compare your options and ensure it’s the right card for you before you apply. However, if you were already in the market for a CommBank credit card, the potential to win a $5,000 Flight Centre voucher could be the cherry on top you need to submit your application sooner rather than later.
Win 100,000 Velocity Points with AccorHotels
Whether you’re travelling for work or taking a relaxing holiday with the family, the Le Club AccorHotels Loyalty program can help you collect points on accommodation at over 3,400 hotels across 92 countries. Plus, if you’re a Velocity Frequent Flyer, you can link your two accounts to turn your hotel stays into flights for your next holiday. If you book your stay between 20 February and 30 April 2017, you’ll collect 3 points per $1 spent on your accommodation and be in the running to win 100,000 bonus Velocity Points!
Dubbed the Sweet Pillow World Tour, your bonus points will be credited to your account within 10 days of check-out and should be converted to Velocity Points within six weeks. Just make sure you’ve nominated Velocity Frequent Flyer as your preferred automatic conversion option if you want to redeem the frequent flyer benefits. The winner of the 100,000 bonus points offer will be announced on 5 May 2017, so keep your fingers crossed until then!
