Earn 15% bonus points when transferring your flybuys to Velocity Points

Earlier this week, we reported the big news that Virgin and Coles had announced that they were Australia’s latest rewards power couple. Through the alliance, flybuys members can now trade points earned at Coles and other flybuys partners for Velocity Points. To celebrate the partnership, flybuys members can earn a bonus 15% Velocity Points when they transfer their flybuys to their Velocity account by 30 November 2016. It’s important to note that you can only transfer your flybuys points to your Velocity account in increments of 2,000 flybuys for 870 Velocity Points (an exchange rate of 0.43 Velocity Points per 1 flybuys point).

While there are some T&Cs to work around, if you already have a stack of flybuys points saved up and want to turn them into flight rewards with Velocity, this deal could be the perfect time to get bonus value from your points.

Get 10% off your hotel stay by booking with your Qantas Points

If you use your Qantas Points to make a hotel booking by 23 October 2016, you can get 10% off the points price. When you’re searching for hotels worldwide, a pop-up window should appear on the Qantas website with the details of the offer.

Following Qantas’ recent partnership with airbnb, you can take up this deal with both traditional hotels and accommodation through airbnb.

Otherwise, if you’d rather save your points for another reward, remember that booking accommodation through Qantas will earn you 3 Points per $1 spent on Qantas Hotel bookings and 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent on airbnb stays.

Enjoy 25% bonus points on all HSBC credit card purchases

HSBC is offering customers a way to earn points faster before the end of the year. If you use your HSBC rewards credit card to make an eligible purchase, you can enjoy an extra 25% bonus Reward or Qantas Points by 31 December 2016. With Christmas coming up and your purchases bound to skyrocket over the next two and a half months, this deal is a convenient way to boost your rewards balance before the new year. Note that business expenses, interest-free promotions or transactions, cash transfer, balance transfers, cash advances, BPAY and a fee or charge (including government fees or charges) are excluded from earning points.

If your HSBC credit card is connected to your Velocity card, you can also pick up a bonus 15% Velocity Points when you transfer your HSBC Rewards Points to your Velocity account between 1 and 30 November 2016.

Spend $60 twice at BP to get a $20 cashback on your American Express credit card

American Express is coming through with yet another cashback offer for its customers. If you use your American Express credit card to make transactions of $60 or more on two separate occasions in-store at BP service stations by 10 November 2016, you’ll be rewarded with a $20 cashback on your account. Available to the first 20,000 cards to save the offer, this is an easy way to get a little extra cashback for your fuel expenses for the next few weeks.

Please note that you can only take advantage of the $20 reward once per registered card.

Pick up points with 32 airline and loyalty programs with Agoda and PointsMAX

Agoda, one of the world’s largest accommodation sites, has recently partnered with PointsMAX, allowing members to pick up points with their choice of 32 loyalty programs. So when you book accommodation through Agoda, PointsMAX lets you earn points with partners including Velocity Frequent Flyer, Singapore Airlines Krisflyer, Cathay Asia Miles, British Airways Executive Club, Etihad Guest, Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus, United Mileage Plus and American Airlines AAdvantage programs (just to name a few).

The cherry on top for travellers planning their next holiday, Agoda is also offering a bonus 1,500 Velocity Frequent Flyer points for hotel bookings made through PointsMAX between 20 October and 30 November 2016. When making the booking, just remember that the stay must be booked between now up until 31 January 2017 to be eligible for the offer.
