Sally McMullen 3 November 2017 NEWS

Earn Qantas Points with Uber, collect bonus Velocity Points and Woolworths Rewards plus pick up cashback when you shop with your Amex.

This week's Rewards Roundup is bursting with bonus points and cashback offers to help you get more bang for your buck from your favourite loyalty programs.

If you're a Qantas Frequent Flyer, we'll show you how you can earn points on Uber trips to the airport. Velocity Frequent Flyers can earn bonus points on everything from purchasing spring racing outfits to transferring credit card rewards and filling up their petrol. Woolworths Rewards members can pocket bonus points or a Google Home Mini when they go grocery shopping this week and American Express cardholders can get up to $50 cashback when they support small businesses in November.

Happy points hunting!

Earn Qantas Points on Uber trips to the airport

Earlier this week, we reported that Qantas Frequent Flyers can now earn points on eligible Uber trips to and from the airport. From today, an Uber icon will appear in the booking section of the Qantas app which you can click to book your next trip.

You can earn up to 3 Qantas Points per $1 spent and the earn rates will vary depending on where you sit on the Qantas tier ladder:

Qantas tier Uber earn rate
Bronze members 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent
Silver members 2 Qantas Points per $1 spent
Gold, Platinum and Platinum One members 3 Qantas Points per $1 spent

Plus, if you haven’t signed up to Uber yet, you can score 2,000 bonus Qantas Points if you join and book your inaugural Uber trip for anywhere in Australia (not just trips to the airport!). Or if you’d prefer you can get $20 off your first Uber fare if you enter the promo code QANTAS20 when requesting your first ride.

Check out our coverage of the partnership for more information including a full list of the eligible airports.

Double your winnings with Velocity this Spring racing season

You could win bonus points and discounts before you’ve even put your bets on this race season. If you pick up a new outfit for the races from THE ICONIC, Styletread, Charles Tyrwhitt and MECCA by 6 November 2017, you’ll earn double Velocity Points per $1 you spend.

Velocity is also currently awarding cardholders with $20 off your first order if you spend a minimum of $79 at THE ICONIC. Just make sure you shop by 19 November 2017 and use the code 20NEWBIEAF at the checkout. You can also score 30% off full price dresses and clothing at David Lawrence when you use the voucher code MELBCUP30 and 25% off full price suits, dresses and clothing at MARCS when you use the code MELBCUP25. Both of these offers are valid until 6 November 2017.

Exchange your partner rewards points for an extra 15% Velocity Points

If you’ve been hoarding your credit card rewards, flybuys points or hotel rewards, this could be the best time to exchange them for Velocity Points. Velocity is rewarding its members with 15% bonus points when they transfer points from partnered programs to frequent flyer points this month.

Just go to your card partner, flybuys or hotel partner’s website and opt to exchange your reward points for Velocity Points by 30 November and you’ll score a bonus 15%. ANZ cardholders can look forward to an even bigger bonus, which we’ve detailed below. Please note that the regular exchange rates and minimum transfer amounts will apply.

We’ve listed the eligible partners below:

Get an extra 30% bonus Velocity Points when you transfer your ANZ Rewards this month

Velocity is upping the stakes for ANZ cardholders when they transfer their credit card reward points this month. If you transfer your ANZ Rewards or Business Rewards by 30 November 2017, you’ll score 30% bonus points. That’s an extra 15% on top of the existing bonus points promotion!

You can transfer a minimum and in multiples of 3,000 points from your personal account or 2,250 if you have a business account.

The exchange rate is usually 2 ANZ Rewards for 1 Velocity Point, so this is an easy way to get more value from your credit card rewards.

Snag your share of 7 million Velocity Points when you fill up at BP

If you’re a Velocity Frequent Flyer, you should’ve received an email this week notifying you of your chance to get your share of 7 million Velocity Points. All you have to do is activate the offer via the email, fill up on petrol or shop at any participating BP service station and swipe your Velocity card by 15 November 2017. This is on top of the standard 2 points per litre and 2 points per $1 spent in-store you’d usually enjoy at BP. The 7 million Velocity Points will be equally distributed between eligible members and Velocity will notify you of your bonus points bounty via email on 1 December 2017.

Get up to $50 cashback with American Express in November

American Express’ Shop Small promotion is back. This November, Amex card members who spend $20 or more in one transaction at participating small businesses will get $10 back! You can take advantage of this offer up to five times, so you could score up to $50 back in your account.

You can only take advantage of the offer once per participating business, so you won’t be able to rack up your cashback rewards each time you spend at your local cafe or restaurant. All you need to do is register your American Express card for the Shop Small promotion by 30 November and start shopping with participating merchants.

Win a Google Home Mini or 6,500 bonus points when you spend with Woolworths this weekend

Woolworths Rewards is rewarding its shoppers with bonus points or a Google Home Mini over the next two weeks. If you spend $140 each week for two weeks between Monday 30 October and Sunday 12 November, you could win a Google Home Mini or 6,500 bonus Woolworths Rewards. Considering a grocery shop of this amount would usually only get you 240 Woolworths Rewards, this reward isn’t too shabby.

If you’re a Woolworths Rewards member, you should’ve received an email regarding the promotion this week. In the email, you’re given the choice to choose either the Google Home Mini or Bonus Points.

Plus, if you order your groceries online by Sunday 12 November, spend at least $80 and choose pick up, you could score 10x bonus Woolworths Rewards points. Just make sure you use the promo code PICKUP10 at the checkout.

Tap and pay with your iPhone to score 500 bonus points at Woolworths

Your wallet is about to get a little lighter. You can now use your iPhone to collect points at Woolworths. Visit the Woolworths Rewards website on your phone, log in and you'll see the option to add your loyalty card to your Apple Wallet. Follow the prompts and then you can earn points at the checkout when you scan your phone instead of your card. Plus, if you register and use this option for the first time before 30 November 2017, you'll earn 500 bonus Woolworths Rewards. If you've linked your Woolworths Rewards and Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts, this could equate to roughly 217 Qantas Points.

Unfortunately, this feature is only available on iOS devices at the moment. Woolworths has plans to roll this option out for Android and other users in the future. You can only use your Apple Wallet to earn points at Woolworths, so you'll still need to pull out your physical card if you want to collect Woolworths Rewards at Big W, Dan Murphy's and other partnered merchants.
