Pick up more Qantas Points on your next holiday, reward yourself for referring a friend with AMEX and get extra value from everyday purchases.

Some of Australia's favourite loyalty programs are really ramping up the rewards in the lead up to Christmas. In this week's rewards roundup, you'll have the chance to get extra value from your next holiday with Qantas and pick up bonus points for referring a friend to American Express. Plus, you can look forward to bonus points and savings on your next orders with Liquorland and Deliveroo.

Earn bonus Qantas Points when organising your cash for your next holiday

It’s official. Summer has begun and the Australian holiday season is upon us. If you have an overseas trip planned for the holidays, you could be rewarded with bonus Qantas Points if you use the Qantas Cash card. Usually, you would only receive 1 Qantas Point when you spend $1 overseas and 2 Qantas Points when you spend $1 in Australia. However, this latest offer is coughing up points without you having to spend a cent. If you load your Qantas Cash card with AUD$1,500 to $4,999, you’ll earn 1 Qantas Point per dollar loaded. If you have a larger holiday budget and load the card with AUD$5,000 to AUD$20,000, you’ll earn 2 Qantas Points. This means you could earn between 1,500 and 40,000 Qantas Points just for loading and locking in funds on your travel card. This offer ends 16 December 2016, so get loading if you want to give your points balance a boost this month.

5 Qantas Points per $1 spent on flight gift cards

Want to surprise a loved one with a getaway this Christmas? Or maybe you have a holiday of your own in mind. Qantas’ latest offer will give you another reason to take that leap. If you purchase a Qantas Gift Voucher by 31 December 2016, you could earn 5 points per $1 spent this Christmas. So if you were to splurge on a $500 gift voucher, you could rack up a bonus 2,500 Qantas Points! The airline is going all out for frequent flyer perks this silly season. As we reported in last week's roundup, you can also quadruple the number of Qantas Points you could earn when you book a holiday activity through Qantas before the new year. Pair the gift card with a fun holiday activity for a loved one and not only will you be swimming in extra Qantas Points, you'll bag yourself the rep of the best gift giver this holidays.

Refer a friend to American Express and receive up to 20,000 bonus Membership Rewards.

American Express is once again on the campaign trail for new cardholders with help from a revamp of its referral program. In good news for both existing and new customers, when existing American Express customers refer a friend to a new card, both parties will score bonus points if the applicant is approved. Depending on the card you have, you could earn up to 20,000 bonus points if you’re an existing cardholder and your referral is approved.

If you want to take advantage of the latest referral offers, all you need to do is log in to the American Express website and create a referral link. You can then share it via email, LinkedIn, Facebook or just copying and pasting the link and sharing it. You’ll receive your bonus points after they’ve been approved. To increase your chances of receiving bonus points, only share the offer with loved ones who are in the market for a new credit card and meet the eligibility requirements of the card they’re applying for.

The number of bonus points you could receive depends on the card you have. You can browse the different options below.

Card Points type Points for cardholder Points/reward for applicant
Platinum Edge Membership Rewards 10,000 15,000
David Jones Membership Rewards 15,000 30,000
David Jones Platinum Membership Rewards 20,000 40,000
Explorer Membership Rewards 20,000 110,000
Essential Membership Rewards 10,000 $75 statement credit
Qantas Discovery Qantas 10,000 15,000

Qantas Ultimate Qantas 20,000 110,000
Velocity Escape Velocity 10,000 15,000
Velocity Platinum Velocity 20,000 80,000

While you’ll receive your bonus points when your referral receives approval, the new cardholder will still need to meet the spending requirements to pick up their bonuses in most cases.

Spend $30 at Liquorland and receive a bonus 1,000 flybuys points

With the launch of its new website, Liquorland is celebrating by rewarding flybuys members with a bonus points offer this week. All you need to do is spend $30 at the Liquorland online store this weekend using "Click & Collect" and you’ll score a bonus 1,000 flybuys points. With the weekend coming up, this shouldn’t be hard to do. Considering that the regular earn rate of 1 point per $1 spent would usually mean you’d have to spend $1,000 at Liquorland to rack up this many points, this is an easy way to boost your points balance for less.
