finder Rewards Roundup: Qantas and Velocity

Sally McMullen 25 January 2018 NEWS

The rewards offers that'll give your points balance a boost this long weekend.

From $5,000 Virgin Australia flight vouchers and 1,000 bonus Qantas Points to the frequent flyer credit cards you should pay attention to, here are the latest rewards offers to check out this week.

Earn 1,000 bonus Qantas Points with Avis or Budget

Do you have a road trip coming up? Need to hire a car while yours is having repairs done? Well, if you rent a car for at least three days with Avis or Budget in Australia or New Zealand by 28 February 2018, you’ll score 1,000 bonus Qantas Points. This is in addition to the regular 4 points per $1 you’d earn in Australia and the standard 700 points per $1 spent on car rentals in New Zealand.

As well as the bonus points, you could also get a free car upgrade at your pick-up location. The upgrade is subject to availability, though. Make sure you book through, use the coupon code UPNA001 and include your Qantas Frequent Flyer account information to nab the points.

Last chance to save up to 50% at the Qantas Store

It’s your last week to redeem more for less at the Qantas Store. The frequent flyer program is hosting a massive post-Christmas sale, so you can redeem your points for rewards and save up to 50%. The Qantas Store is home to some of Australia’s favourite brands, and the deals range from up to 40% off Fitbit products, 45% off Bose QuietComfort acoustic noise cancelling headphones and a bonus $20 Myer Gift Card with every $200 gift card redeemed.

Using your Qantas Frequent Flyer Points to redeem products from the Qantas Store isn’t usually the most valuable way to spend your points. But if you're determined to cash your points in for products, now is the best time to do it. The offers vary between products, but most of the clearance sale prices last until 31 January 2018.

Join Velocity to win 1 of 4 $5,000 flight vouchers

If you’re not already a Velocity Frequent Flyer, now might be the best time to sign up. That’s because Velocity is rewarding new members with the chance to win flight vouchers when they join.

If you join Velocity using the competition form by 28 February 2018, you’ll automatically go in the running to win 1 of 4 $5,000 Virgin Australia vouchers! And even if you don’t win, it’s free to sign up and you can look forward to earning Velocity Points to redeem for free flights in the future!

Double your Qantas Points on hotel bookings

Has the long weekend got you dreaming of your next vacation? Well, you could double your rewards if you book through Qantas Hotel until Friday. This is because you'll earn 6 Qantas Points per AU$1 spent on hotels across Australia, which is twice as many as you'd usually earn.

There are thousands of locations to choose from and you won't have to pay any booking fees or surcharges when you book online with Qantas Hotels. Unfortunately, this deal excludes Airbnb bookings and is only available until 11.59pm this Friday 26 January 2018.
