Pick up bonus points with Qantas and Woolworths Rewards, plus take advantage of premium perks with Amex.

There are plenty of ways to boost your reward points balance with this week's Rewards Roundup. You can earn up to 10,000 bonus Qantas Points when you buy a Samsung Galaxy 8 or up to 5,000 bonus points when you top up your Qantas Cash card. You can also pick up 13,000 bonus Woolworths Rewards points on your grocery shop this month and we'll show you how you can squeeze some extra perks out of your American Express credit card. Happy points hunting!

Score 10,000 bonus Qantas Points when you buy the new Samsung Galaxy 8

As if you needed another reason to upgrade your phone, you can score 10,000 Qantas Points when you buy the new Samsung Galaxy S8 in the next week. What’s the catch? You just have to order it online with a selected Vodafone Red Global plan by 30 November 2017.

This is in addition to the points you’d usually earn when you sign up for a Red Global plan, which can be up to 15,000 points depending on the plan you choose! Combined, that means you could earn up to 25,000 points when you buy the phone. That’s enough points to fly Business Class from Melbourne to Sydney!

Earn up to 5,000 bonus Qantas Points with Qantas Cash

Qantas is rewarding organised travellers with bonus points when they load their Qantas Cash card this month. If you top up your Qantas Cash card with AU$2,000 and load it into a supported foreign currency, you can earn between 1,500 and 5,000 bonus points.

You can earn the points when you load the eligible amounts into any of the 10 supported foreign currencies including: USD, GBP, EUR, SGD, NZD, HKD, JPY, CAD, THB or AED.

This is in addition to the points you’d usually earn when you spend overseas. So, if you load and spend the equivalent of AU$5,000 in one of the foreign currencies, you could earn 12,500 Qantas Points! That’s enough points to fly from Sydney to the Gold Coast in Economy (8,000 points) and almost enough to take the trip in Business Class (16,000 points).

This offer is available to cardholders until 15 December 2017. If you haven’t already activated your Qantas Cash card, you can score a bonus 500 Qantas Points when you do that as well!

Qantas trials new tailored rewards system

Australia’s favourite airline announced a new way to reward its frequent flyers this week. Qantas Frequent Flyer is currently trialling a new tailored scheme to help members earn more points when they shop with their favourite types of merchants.

Dubbed My Qantas Offers, frequent flyers will receive a weekly email that lists up to seven bonus points offers with partnered retailers that align with their tastes based on their previous spending habits. So, say you’d earned points at a women’s fashion boutique, it’s likely that your My Qantas Offers email will boast a bunch of ways you can earn bonus points on ladies fashion.

Qantas is currently trialling this new tailored approach with 300,000 lucky frequent flyers and has confirmed plans to roll it out across the entire loyalty program by April 2018.

Shop your way to 13,000 bonus Woolworths Rewards this Christmas

If you spend $140 or more at Woolworths every week between now and 17 December, you can snag 13,000 bonus Woolworths Rewards points. The first week ends this Sunday 26 November, with the second week starting on Monday 27 November. You can check out how the weeks are broken down below.

Between grocery shopping and stocking up for Christmas, meeting the weekly spend requirement could be easier than you think. But make sure it aligns with your budget before you commit to earning the points.

Let’s say you made the minimum spend of $560 over the four weeks. The combined standard earn rate and bonus points offer would get you 13,560 Woolworths Rewards points. You need 2,000 points to get $10 off your shop, so you could get up to $60 off future grocery shops (with points to spare) with this offer.

If you prefer travel rewards, you could also exchange your 13,000 Woolworths Rewards for 5,655 Qantas Points. You probably won’t be able to redeem any substantial trips with that many Qantas Points, but it’s an easy way to give your balance a quick boost.

Pull out your American Express for premium perks at the Open Air Cinema this Summer

Good news, movie buffs. Amex is presenting the Open Air Cinemas this summer. All moviegoers can enjoy a variety of films under the stars, but there are exclusive benefits reserved for Amex card members. Amex has saved a spot in the queue for you with its pre-sale access, so you can snag your tickets before the general public. Plus, you’ll save with 15% off the regular retail price.

Even in summer, it can get a little chilly watching movies under the stars, so you can pick up a complimentary blanket when you show your American Express card at the kiosk. If you really want to take advantage of the red carpet movie experience, purchase a ticket to the Amex Invites lounge. This will set you back $34 if you're paying with your Amex, but you can get comfy during the movie with your very own lounger, cushions and a blanket. Plus, there are plenty of treats to keep you satisfied throughout the film.

Check out the Amex Invites website to book your tickets and find out more.
