Qantas offers extra value to frequent flyers, credit card holders and Woolies shoppers.

This week's Rewards Roundup features opportunities to get extra value from your next flight, at the petrol pump and on a shopping spree.

Get 20% off Qantas and Jetstar Economy Rewards

If you've been umm-ing and aah-ing about your next holiday, Qantas' latest discount offer might give you the push you need. As we reported on Thursday, Qantas Frequent Flyers who book an eligible Economy Qantas or Jetstar Classic Flight Rewards flight before 11.59pm on Saturday 27 August will receive a 20% discount. Using Qantas' Points calculator, a return Economy Reward flight from Sydney to Melbourne would ordinarily cost 16,000 points. But if you applied before midnight on 27 August, it would only cost you 12,800 points to take this same flight. What's the catch? The flights must be QF/JQ operated flights booked for between 27 September 2016 and 12 August 2017.

Woolworths revamps rewards program with 1 point per $1 and Qantas perks

After ditching the Everyday Rewards program for Woolworths Rewards in late 2015 and dropping and (again) picking up its Qantas partnership, Woolworths announced more changes to its loyalty rewards scheme this week. As of 31 August, Woolworths will be replacing the Woolworths Dollars system for a 1 point per $1 deal. Woolworths Rewards members can either use the points for savings at the checkout, to convert to Qantas Points (at a rate of 2,000 Woolworths Rewards for 870 Qantas Points) or bank their points for greater savings. See our Woolworths Rewards guide for more information on how you can earn rewards on your groceries.

Earn up to 25% bonus Qantas Points on credit card transfers

Qantas is enticing credit card holders to move their rewards to their Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts with this latest offer. If you transfer points from your credit card rewards program to your Qantas account before 31 August, you could earn up to 25% bonus points. How many bonus rewards points you can earn depends on the number of points you're transferring, though. If you move more than one million points, you'll receive the full 25% bonus. Otherwise, if you've clocked up 50,000 points you'll receive a 20% bonus, 15% extra Qantas Points will be awarded for transfers over 100,000 and 10% for anything less.

New Velocity members can earn 500 bonus points for spending at BP

If you're not already a Velocity frequent flyer, Virgin Australia's loyalty program is offering an easy way for new members to pick up 500 bonus points before the end of the year. All you need to do is make a purchase at BP and pick up a temporary Velocity card before you pay (these can usually be found at the petrol pump or at the register). You'll need to swipe your temporary card and pay as normal. Within the 48 hours, you'll just need to join Velocity and register the temporary card at velocityfrequentflyer.com/bp using the promo code BPJOIN500. Once you've done this, you should receive 500 bonus points within five weeks. Ordinarily, Velocity members can earn 2 points for every $1 spent at BP stations or use their Velocity Points to save at the petrol pump.

In this VIP lounge, American Express cardholders can take a break from their shopping to enjoy some food and beverages as well as a complimentary glam session at the Beauty Bar. Plus, if you register between 25 August and 8 September, American Express cardholders can receive $20 cashback when they spend $50 on their American Express credit card with any of the 100 participating retailers.
