finder Rewards Roundup: Qantas, Velocity, flybuys, Le Club AccorHotels
Earn up to 100,000 bonus points with some of your favourite airline and hotel loyalty programs.
This week's Rewards Roundup flaunts six simple ways to earn bonus points with Qantas, Virgin Australia's Velocity Frequent Flyer, flybuys and Le Club AccorHotels. So whether you're in the market for a new frequent flyer credit card, booking flights or hotels for your next getaway or searching for ways to earn extra points on your grocery shop, these are the bonus points offers to check out this week.
Last chance to earn 100,000 Qantas Points with the Amex Qantas Ultimate card
The American Express Qantas Ultimate credit card currently boasts one of the biggest bonus points offers on the market. When you spend $3,000 in the first three months of owning the card, you’ll score 100,000 bonus Qantas Points! That’s enough points to fly one way in Business Class from Sydney to Los Angeles (96,000 points) or return in Business Class from Sydney to Bali (50,000 points each way).
You’ll continue to earn 1.5 Qantas Points per $1 on all eligible purchases. You'll also collect 1 additional Qantas Point per $1 spent with the airline and 0.5 points per $1 spent on government transactions (such as your ATO bill). You can also save on travel costs with a $450 Qantas Travel Credit, two complimentary passes to the American Express lounge at Sydney and Melbourne airport and two Qantas Club Lounge invitations after you spend with Qantas each year.
These perks can help outweigh the card’s $450 annual fee. This offer is available to new cardholders who apply by 9 April 2018, so you only have a few more weeks to snap up these bonus points. See our review of the card for more details and to see if you’re eligible to apply.

Earn 1,000 bonus Qantas Points with Airbnb
Qantas is rewarding frequent flyers for their first Airbnb stay this week. If you’ve never booked an Airbnb and do so through Qantas by this Sunday 25 March 2018, you’ll earn 1,000 bonus Qantas Points!
This first-time booking bonus is usually only 500 bonus Qantas Points and you’ll continue to earn 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent on your booking. Just make sure that you book through the Qantas website and include your frequent flyer number when you’re booking.
Whether you’re booking a last-minute Easter getaway or planning a trip later this year, this is an easy way to pick up some extra Qantas Points.
Earn Qantas Points directly at Woolworths
While Aussies have been able to exchange their Woolworths Rewards for Qantas Points for a while, there’s now a new way to earn frequent flyer points directly at the supermarket. As of this week, Qantas Frequent Flyers can now earn 2 Qantas Points per $1 spent online at Woolworths when they shop via the Qantas Online Mall.
Considering that there is an exchange rate of 870 Qantas Points per 2,000 Woolworths Rewards, you’d usually earn 0.43 Qantas Points per $1 spent at Woolworths. So you can earn more than four times this many points if you shop at Woolies online via Qantas’ Online Mall.
Unfortunately, you can’t take advantage of this offer in-store. If you spent $300 on groceries at Woolworths, you’d earn 600 Qantas Points if you checked out through the Qantas Online Mall. This is a big difference compared to the 129 Qantas Points you’d usually earn if you spent $300 in-store at Woolies. If you shop through the Qantas Online Mall, you can also save with promotional discounts, free shipping on your first order over $100 and more.
Get 30% off Virgin Australia flights and earn 3x Velocity Points
Whether you want to save on fares or pick up some extra points, this week is a rewarding time to book your next flight with Virgin Australia. If you book a Virgin Australia flight by 11.59pm AEDT on 26 March 2018, you’ll save 30% and score triple bonus Velocity Points.
The number of points you’ll earn will vary depending on where you’re flying, but usually, you’d earn 5 Velocity Points per $1 spent on flights. This means that you’ll earn 15 points per $1 spent during the promotional period. So to maximise the value of the deal, you could book a longer-haul domestic or international flight or one to a regional location where fares are usually higher. But even with the 30% off, 15 points per $1 is a pretty hefty bonus points offer that’ll help you get more bang for your buck.
There are a few exclusions though. This bonus points offer doesn’t apply with any Reward Seat bookings or flights with codeshare partners such as Etihad. The multiplier only applies to your base points, rather than additional points you earn as a result of being in a higher Velocity tier like Silver, Gold or Platinum.

Earn 2,000 bonus flybuys points with Coles Gift Mastercard
If you buy a Coles Gift Mastercard, Ticketmaster or Endota Spa gift card in store by 26 March 2018 and scan your flybuys card, you’ll be credited with 2,000 bonus flybuys points!
Unless you have a concert coming up or want to get pampered with a spa treatment, the Coles Gift Mastercard could offer more spending freedom as you can use it wherever Mastercard is accepted. Even with the $5 service fee (bringing the total cost to $105), it could still offer good value considering you’d usually have to spend $2,000 to earn 2,000 flybuys points.
You can redeem 2,000 flybuys for $10 off your shop or exchange them for 870 Velocity Points if you prefer frequent flyer rewards. Take note that you can only score the bonus points once per flybuys household, so you can maximise your points by grabbing a bunch of gift cards during the promotion.
We reported on this flybuys deal in further detail this week, so check out our in-depth coverage for even more tips to make the most of it.
Triple your points with Le Club Accor Hotels participating retailers like ASOS and SurfStitch
Le Club AccorHotels members can pick up more points with some of Australia’s most popular retailers this week. When you shop online through Collections by Le Club AccorHotels until 27 March 2018, you’ll score triple Reward points per $1.50 you spend with participating retailers. This isn’t bad considering you’d usually only earn 1 point per $1.50 spent.
Some of the included brands include ASOS, AVEDA, Esprit, Estee Lauder, Jurlique, Kathmandu, Strawberrynet and Surfstitch. You can redeem your Reward points for AccorHotel rewards or exchange them for frequent flyer points with partnered schemes like Virgin Australia’s Velocity and Singapore Airline’s KrisFlyer.
