This week's Rewards Roundup is packed with the bonus points promos and competitions you need to lift your Christmas cheer. We’ll show you how you can get enough bonus Velocity Points for a return business class flight to Bali and how to double your Velocity Status Credits. You can also get 10% cashback with NAB and American Express when you shop on Amazon this Boxing Day and five times as many points with Woolworths Rewards. If you’re a Qantas Frequent Flyer, we’ll show you how you can throw your hat in the ring to win 1 of 20 luxury trips to Kangaroo Island. Happy points hunting!

American Express Velocity Platinum brings back the 100,000 bonus points offer

If you want to give your Velocity Points balance a boost in 2018, the Amex Velocity Platinum credit card could be up your alley.

If you spend $1,500 in the first three months of card membership, you’ll score 100,000 bonus Velocity Points. That’s enough to get you a return business class flight from Sydney to Denpasar, Bali (99,000 points) or a one-way flight in business class from Sydney to Los Angeles (95,500 points)! Considering the old bonus point offer was 50,000 Velocity Points for the same spend requirement, this is a definite step up.

You’ll also earn 1.5 Velocity Points per $1 spent on eligible purchases as well as an extra 1 Velocity Point per $1 spent on eligible Virgin purchases. Tailored to suit frequent flyers, you’ll also get two complimentary single entry passes to Virgin Australia lounges at select airports each anniversary year as well as a complimentary domestic return flight with Virgin Australia after your first spend each year. You can also save on travel costs thanks to complimentary domestic and international travel insurance.

The card has an annual fee of $375, and you can check out the full overview of all of the rates, fees and features in our review of the American Express Velocity Platinum card.

Earn double Velocity Status Credits this month

If you’ve linked your flybuys and Velocity accounts, you could earn extra Status Credits (as well as points) on your groceries until New Year’s Eve.

For every $100 you spend at Coles, Coles Online, Liquorland and First Choice Liquor before 31 December 2017, you’ll score 2 Velocity Status Credits, up to 20 Status Credits. This offer is double the benefits of the standard 1 Status Credit per $100 earn rate.

You can use Status Credits to move up the Velocity Frequent Flyer tiers to take advantage of higher earn rates, complimentary baggage allowance on flights and airport lounge entry.

Get 10% back from your Amazon shopping with American Express and NAB this Boxing Day.

If you’re an American Express or NAB cardholder, you've got another reason to do your shopping on Amazon this Boxing Day. As well as the savings you’ll get from the Boxing Day sales, you’ll also get 10% cashback when you pay with your NAB personal credit card or registered American Express credit card at Amazon. You can get up to $100 back, so it’s an easy way to score extra savings this Boxing Day. For more information, check out our coverage of this cashback offer.

Win a trip to Kangaroo Island with Qantas

Qantas is celebrating its newest route to Kangaroo Island by giving frequent flyers the chance to witness the majesty for themselves. If you’re one of the lucky 20 winners, you and a guest will be flown from your nearest capital city to Adelaide. From there, you’ll take a private Qantas jet to beautiful Kangaroo Island.

You’ll then spend the next two days on a fully escorted tour including a marine cruise and visits to Seal Bay, Hanson Bay Koala Sanctuary and Flinders Chase National Park. You can also enjoy a meal and some drinks at Sunset Food and Wine as well as at Dudley Wines.

For your chance to win, you just need to register and enter the draw by 2 January 2018 in one of three ways. You can shop online via the Qantas Online Mall, register your card for Mastercard My Offers or opt to convert your Woolworths Rewards to Qantas Points. Even if you don’t win the prize, at least you’ll earn some Qantas Points along the way.

Earn five times the Woolworths Rewards this weekend and win a year’s worth of groceries

With Christmas coming up, you’re bound to be hitting the grocery store and stocking your pantry with holiday treats this weekend. And if you’re shopping at Woolworths, you can gift yourself with bonus points until Christmas Eve. On top of the standard 1 Woolworths Rewards point per $1 you’d earn when shopping at Woolies, you’ll also earn 5 times the bonus points for the biggest shop you make in store or online at Woolworths until 11.59pm on 24 December 2017. Your bonus points will be added to your account no later than Wednesday 10 January 2018.

Plus, don’t forget you could win a year’s worth of groceries whenever you shop and scan your Woolworths Rewards card at Woolworths in store or online, at BWS and at participating Caltex Woolworths Fuel Outlets until this Sunday. The major prize includes $7,800 worth of groceries as well as a 12-month saver pass to help you save on delivery fees valued at $99.
