After 20 years of research, here's what you need to know about Caudalie's new Vinofresh deodorant.

If you're on the hunt for a natural deodorant, we think this may become your new best friend.

But first, let's start with the basics. What exactly is a "natural" deodorant and why do you need it?

Natural deodorants are mostly free from aluminium, among other things. Some believe that the porous nature of our underarms means we're absorbing the aluminium which is normally found in standard deodorants.

A more "natural" approach eliminates this from happening, but whether aluminium is actually absorbed and harmful to your body is still up for question.

Regardless, if you're looking to try something new, here's what you need to know about the Caudalie Vinofresh Deodorant.

What makes Caudalie green?

The team over at Caudalie's Natural Formulation Laboratory have come up with the Vinofresh Natural Stick Deodorant after 20 years of research. The result? An effective and long-lasting formulation of 98% natural-origin ingredients, that's also 100% vegan.

The Vinofresh formulation is free from aluminium, bicarbonate soda, alcohol, silicone, fragrance and parabens. Instead, it's packed with organic grape water which works to soothe the skin and provide prebiotic benefits. Organic eucalyptus also provides a unisex scent, and promises to naturally reduce bacteria.

Caudalie's natural deodorant is also available to everyone. Not only is it dermatologically tested, but it's suitable to use on sensitive, waxed or lasered underarms, and can be used by those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

But the most important question: Does it actually work? I was lucky enough to be gifted the Vinofresh deodorant to trial for myself.

I've only been using it for a week and I can say that the deodorant does feel good on the skin and works to keep my underarms feeling fresh.

If you're well versed on the natural deodorant process, you'll know that the switch triggers a detox reaction which is unfortunately unavoidable. Basically, you're going to be smelly for a while.

Therefore I can't comment on how well the product keeps me stink-free, but I can say that the formulation feels beautiful on the skin.

Where can I get it?

You can shop the Caudalie Vinofresh Natural Stick Deodorant from Sephora. It retails at $24 for 50g.
