Finder Green Fave: Boody 3/4 Sleeve Top

Boody's bamboo top is classic, comfortable and made with sustainability in mind.
It's easy to find wardrobe staples, but making sure they are eco-friendly can sometimes be a challenge. Boody is an Australian company that is working to change this, with simple designs, sustainable materials and ethical manufacturing processes.
I first saw Boody in a health food shop and the simple packaging caught my eye. I'd heard a bit about bamboo fabrics and was also in need of some new basics for work (after wearing mine out in 2020). So I thought I'd see what Boody was like.
What makes the Boody 3/4 Sleeve Top sustainable?
Boody's 3/4 Sleeve Top is made from organically-grown bamboo and is also free of chemicals. It is harvested in the Sichuan province of China and has FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification.
These tops, along with other Boody products, are made in accredited factories in China, Vietnam and India. According to Boody, it only works with factories that are Fair Trade-certified "to ensure everyone involved in the production of Boody is treated with the respect and care they deserve".
Boody is also a member of 1% for the Planet, which means 1% of the value from online sales is donated to non-profits that help protect the planet. And everything you buy comes in plastic-free packaging that's made from recycled materials.
Beyond the 3/4 Sleeve Top, most of Boody's core range is made from a mix of organically-grown bamboo, organic cotton and a unique lyocell blend called LyoLyte – all with the same level of care for people and the planet.
We tried it and love it
I bought a white 3/4 Sleeve Top in November 2020 and have worn it almost every week since then. It's a snug fit (which I like) and the scoop neck sits well across my chest.
Even after many washes, it's still very white – something I always wonder about when I buy white clothes.
The main criticism I have is that I sometimes find I sweat a bit more when I'm wearing this top, compared to other cotton-blend tops I own. I actually find that's the case with most viscose fabrics (Boody says this one is "80% viscose made from organically grown bamboo, 13% nylon and 7% elastane").
Still, it's not a huge issue for me – I'm actually planning to buy the black version of this top when I eventually wear out my others.
Where can I get it?
