Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood returns to the world of Ivalice in its latest patch
Revisit the world of Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy Tactics with the Return to Ivalice raid.
Square Enix has today rolled out the first major patch for the latest expansion to its hugely-popular MMO Final Fantasy XIV.
The 4.1 patch, entitled The Legend Returns, brings a heap of new content to Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood, most exciting of which is a 24-player raid that takes players back to Ivalice, the setting of both Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy Tactics. The raid features an original story written by game designer Yasumi Matsuno, who worked on both XII and Tactics, as well as Keita Amemiya, the creator of the Garo TV and film franchise.
Along with the nostalgia trip, The Legend Returns brings a wealth of new story quests dealing with the aftermath of the liberation of Ala Mhigo. There's a new high-level dungeon, too: The Drowned City of Skalla, an undersea metropolis ruined by war and concealing mysterious treasures.
That's hardly it for the content drop, either, as patch 4.1 adds more side quests, trial battles, solo dungeons, tribe quests and new residential plots for player housing within Shirogane.
The Legend Returns rolls out for free to all Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood owners today, both on PS4 and PC.
