Fiji Airways launches Adelaide-Nadi service with $588 return fares
The first direct flights from Adelaide to Nadi take off tonight.
Today, Adelaide welcomes its first direct flights to and from Nadi, Fiji with Fiji Airways and to celebrate, the Fijian national carrier is offering sale fares from $588 return. The sale covers select travel dates between 24 October 2017 and 31 May 2018 and is on sale until 12 July 2017.
Flights are scheduled to operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays and are aptly timed to allow travellers to make the most of a long weekend in either city. The first flights take off from Nadi at 4:30pm and arrive in Adelaide at 8:30pm local time. They then depart from Adelaide at 10pm, returning to Nadi at 5:35am the following morning. The same schedule occurs on both Mondays and Fridays.
These are full-service fares that include checked baggage, meals and refreshments and you'll fly on the Boeing 737-800.
This new route is the fourth direct service operated by Fiji Airways between Australia and Nadi. It currently offers two daily services from Sydney, five weekly services from Melbourne and a daily service from Brisbane.
In addition to offering a more convenient route for South Australians to visit Fiji, Adelaide Airport's managing director Mark Young suggests that this new route will open up journeys further afield for the city's residents. “This also creates another one-stop connection with the US West Coast, with the added bonus of being able to stopover in beautiful Fiji," he says.
As Fiji Airways is a codeshare partner with Qantas, flights can be booked through either carrier and you'll be eligible to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points. This partnership also allows travellers from other Australian cities to book connecting flights via Adelaide to Nadi.
These sale fares can be booked online through Flight Centre.
