The two heavyweights of video games football meet at the weigh in: who comes out on top?
From our early hands-on sessions with both FIFA 16 and PES 2016, it’s clear that the two biggest names in video games football have plenty to offer. While EA Sports’ FIFA 16 hasn’t diminished the series’ renowned quality, Konami’s PES series has finally made the inroads it has been promising for the best part of decade and has on its hands with PES 2016 a genuine title challenger. This year it is not about quality, but about personal preference – which is great!
So let’s add another comparison to the debate.
Install sizes are a big issue on modern gaming consoles, whether you download digital games and need to manage your data cap, or are installing direct off the disk and need to know whether your hard drive has enough space to hold your desired purchase. We’ve been maintaining the world’s most detailed list on install sizes, and you can check out the gigabyte cost of every PS4 game, and also every Xbox One game.
The install sizes for both games are now in, and here’s the verdict. The base copy of FIFA 16 (prior to any patches or DLC) will be 21.84GB. Meanwhile PES 2016 (prior to any patches or DLC) will come in at 18.9GB. So there you have it, an early victory for PES 2016, being the thriftier of the two when it comes to hard drive space by 2.96GB. However, one could argue that it simply means FIFA 16 has the more content (possibly thanks to the introduction of women’s soccer. The fight will continue to release, later this month.
