Fashion S9110 – Price, specs & features review

The Chinese built Fashion smartwatch is a good looking way to wear your tech device.

The S9110 wrist phone was first introduced as wearable gear in 2010. Although many other similar products have since been developed, its sleek design still makes it a popular item with China based wholesalers and retailers.

What comes with the Fashion S9110 Fashion smartwatch?

When it arrives expect to find a watch, spare battery, USB charger, wired headset, Bluetooth headset and instruction manual inside of the box. The manual may prove difficult to understand as it has not been translated well into English, and you are going to need to purchase a microSD card for improved memory.

How does the Fashion S9110 look?

Even though the screen is large at 1.8 inches, the wearable gear still has the look of a typical watch thanks to a sleek 13mm thick rectangular design. It sports a leather band in place of plastic or rubber which you may have trouble clasping at first. The screen is larger and bright, using 176X220 pixels, which makes it easier to see the tiny letters on the pop-up keyboard.

Battery life for the Fashion wrist phone

With normal use you can get up to four days with the phone watch on one charge. When ready to charge you are able to plug it into a wall outlet or use the USB cable on one of your computer’s ports.

Considerations of the S9110 watch phone

If you want to use the watch to send text or email, the keyboard is extremely difficult to read, and with such small letters, you will need the stylus to avoid any errors. It does have handwriting recognition though, but you still need to use the keyboard to switch modes from letter to number.

You are also going to find that the touch screen is not as responsive as you are used to with your smart phone devices. Expect to use a little more force to get the functions to work with the stylus, especially for the icons located around the edges.

The watch portion is not displayed while in standby, which takes away from the device being a watch. This is probably meant to conserve energy, but having to press a button every time you want to know what time it is could be a nuisance.

The internet capabilities of the Fashion phone watch are limited, and you will need to use the Google Wireless Transcoder to if you want to be able to read a web page on the watch face. Even then, not all pages are going to be able to fit correctly onto the small face.

Making calls using the Fashion S9110

You can use the included Bluetooth headset to use the watch as a phone, or the built in microphone and speaker. The speaker is on the left side of the watch face, and the microphone where the watch meets the band. When in hands-free mode you should be able to use the phone even in a loud environment.

The Fashion S9110 is a good watch phone to consider if you want something that looks non-technical but has basic phone functions. When comparing the device to a smartwatch, consider the lack of notifications from your social media accounts, as well as the watches poor connectivity to the internet. For the price though, it is a neat device to make calls with and still look cool while doing it.
