Families can now fly to Los Angeles on Qantas from $799 per person

Theme parks, beaches, shopping and the chance to rub shoulders with celebrities are crowd pleasers for everyone in the family. So if you're seeking a place to take the little ones, the sunny shores of California won't disappoint.
Neither will this latest sale by Qantas. It features flights for four from just $799per person, or $1,099 per adult and $499 per child. These prices are based on a child accompanying an adult, so unfortunately, it can't be traded off for a group of adults if you don't have a brood in tow.
To the kids' benefit, flights are available during the winter school holidays with dates ranging from May until November. Christmas dates are out, but that's to be expected in my opinion.
Sample fares include Melbourne, Brisbane or Sydney to Los Angeles from $1,099 per adult and $499 per child (or $799 per person) and Adelaide or Perth to Los Angeles from $1,199 per adult and $599 per child (or $899 per person).
Bookings are being taken through Flight Centre and are on sale until 27 April.
How good are these fares?
These fares come a smidgen pricier than the cheapest Los Angeles flights available through I Want That Flight. However, those cheap fares are with Xiamen Airlines so you won't be able to support our flagship carrier or earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points on those flights. And if you're travelling with four, you'll definitely earn quite a few.
This is only true of Melbourne to Los Angeles flights, with all other cities coming up cheaper in this family deal than with alternate airlines which start from $800+ per person.
The biggest downside to this Qantas sale is the fact that this is only available for families, or at least parties travelling with at least one child. If that's not you, you can still jump on flights from Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide for under $900 with alternate airlines.
