Sally McMullen
Hey chicks, I'm Sal.
Alex Hourigan
And I'm Al.
Sally McMullen
And this is Two Broke Chicks, the show that shares life lessons for the gals, from the gals. Welcome back to another special segment of Fact or Cap, our mini episode where we basically put a viral challenge, trend, something weird and wacky we've seen on the internet, to the test to see if it's legit. And today's episode, we're going to be doing a best friend test, which is inspired by the Inspired Unemployed podcast. I saw the guys do a best friend quiz with each other and it was so f*cking funny, I was like, Al and I need to do this. So for anybody who doesn't know Al and I are glued at the hip. We've known each other for what, like five years or something now, so we pretty much know everything about each other. So I'll run us through the questions. I've got 10 questions here, and then we can see who comes out on top, and then just what we think of the test, all round.
Alex Hourigan
Okay.
Sally McMullen
First one, easy. What's their birthday?
Alex Hourigan
Yours is the 19th of March. You're a pisces baby.
Sally McMullen
And yours is the 19th of April, Aries baby. I love that we're both born on the 19th as well and only a month apart, like surely that means something too.
Alex Hourigan
Yeah! Destined to be soulmates!
Sally McMullen
Speaking of, what was the name of their first partner?
Alex Hourigan
Chris. Yours is Chris.
Sally McMullen
Mhmm. Easy again.
Alex Hourigan
What's mine?
Sally McMullen
This is a hard one because I'm like, what do we constitute as a real partner? But I would say your first serious relationship was with someone called Nick.
Alex Hourigan
Ding, ding, ding!
Sally McMullen
So two stars each. What was their best subject in school?
Alex Hourigan
I'm gonna go with English.
Sally McMullen
False. History. History was my best subject.
Alex Hourigan
And it was modern, wasn't it?
Sally McMullen
Mhmm. For you, I was gonna say English.
Alex Hourigan
It was ancient history.
Sally McMullen
God damn it! Do you know what? I love that we both thought each other's were English, though and that they were both a history, and also we cover both sides of the spectrum. We've got ancient we've got modern.
Alex Hourigan
Legit.
Sally McMullen
Next one. What's their middle name?
Alex Hourigan
Patricia. Yours is Sally Patricia McMullen! And I love it!
Sally McMullen
Is yours, Therese?
Alex Hourigan
It's Teresa.
Sally McMullen
Teresa.
Alex Hourigan
Wrong!
Sally McMullen
Same, same.
Alex Hourigan
No! It's a completely different letter.
Sally McMullen
Okay, next one. How many tattoos do they have? And bonus points if you know where they are.
Alex Hourigan
Oh, I know you've got the tooth, the shell, the Z, the My Chemical Romance, the lightning bolt, the Rose and the fire. Seven? I'm missing one.
Sally McMullen
Seven your final answer?
Alex Hourigan
No, I think there's eight. Am I missing one?
Sally McMullen
Yes. The sword on the back of my arm!
Alex Hourigan
The sword! I said eight, I knew I was missing one.
Sally McMullen
For you. You've got the Disney castle on the back of your ankle, so that's one. You've got your family crest that should have my initials in it, but we'll talk about it later, that's two. You've got the Z for Zeus that we both have, three. The rose, that we have, four. The snake, five. The flame, six. Is that it? I think that's it. Yeah! Hail the conquering hero! Also I let the record show that we have four matching tattoos, and we plan to get two more.
Alex Hourigan
And I have six tattoos and four of them are matching with you. Yet I'm the bad influence! Okay.
Sally McMullen
What did I want to be when I grew up?
Alex Hourigan
Can I say mermaid?
Sally McMullen
Yeah, I'll take it. I don't know if I know this one for you. Did you want to be like a vet or something?
Alex Hourigan
Yeah. And then I realised I couldn't do maths or science.
Sally McMullen
Next one. What's their shoe size?
Alex Hourigan
Yours is a six and a half.
Sally McMullen
Nailed it. Yours is a six. But you always get a five when you should be getting a six. Who was their first crush?
Alex Hourigan
I don't know. Oh, Prince Eric! It's Prince Eric. I knew that. I knew that. I knew that. Sorry.
Sally McMullen
Was yours Prince Eric as well?
Alex Hourigan
Nope.
Sally McMullen
Who was it?
Alex Hourigan
You know this.
Sally McMullen
Mufasa?
Alex Hourigan
I wouldn't say I had a crush on a Disney character until I was old enough to appreciate how good looking they were. My first like crush came when I was about like nine, seven around that age. You do know it. I cried when I watched one of the movies because I realised I would never meet them.
Sally McMullen
Oh my god. Oh my god. Zac Efron.
Alex Hourigan
Yes!
Sally McMullen
Yes! Excellent choices, Prince Eric and Zac Efron. And then last but not least, what's their biggest insecurity?
Alex Hourigan
Well, this is fun. I would say probably either your height or your teeth.
Sally McMullen
I would say teeth.
Alex Hourigan
Yeah.
Sally McMullen
I was thinking more like something that you would think. This is like an insecurity slash like a pet peeve, I think for you, and it's when people underestimate your intelligence. So because you're like loud and lairy, and obviously gorgeous, I think when people, you know, just assume that you're kind of like just a bit of a giggling gert, that really frustrates you and I think that might be a bit of an insecurity.
Alex Hourigan
It's kind of like a little bit of a trial for people. And like, if you're gonna judge me for being like, loud and don't actually get bothered to get to know me or think that I can be smart, then that's fine, I don't want to know you either. Also, I'm really hairy.
Sally McMullen
Well, I think that we both did really well at that. I don't think either of us were wildly off the mark for anything.
Alex Hourigan
Nope.
Sally McMullen
I think it's a tie.
Alex Hourigan
Yeah. We both win. Because you know what? We're the real winners because we get to be best friends with each other.
Sally McMullen
So what do you think? Do you think that this test is a fact or is it a cap? Do you think that you can judge somebody's friendship by this list of questions?
Alex Hourigan
It's definitely like a cute best friend's quiz. But I think it's like a little bit top level, I want to get in the deep dirt. We can do a part two if you guys want, that's like, a bit harder.
Sally McMullen
Yeah, let us know.
Alex Hourigan
That are like, maybe a little bit juicier.
Sally McMullen
Yeah, we can put up a question box on the stories and you guys can send in the questions that you want to know and we'll test each other. See how well we really know each other. But that's a wrap for another episode of Fact or Cap. Make sure to head to our show notes, we'll pop a link to The Inspired Unemployed's episode of this because it was really funny. And then also the questions so y'all can play along with your besties and see how you go. As usual, head to finder.com.au/twobrokechicks for a transcript and some fun little links, resources from today's episode.
