Use this guide to find answers for some of the most common questions about Woolworths Rewards so you know exactly what you can get as a member of this program.

Commonly asked questions about the Woolworths Rewards program

Whether you want to know how to join Woolworths Rewards, earn Woolworths Rewards points or Qantas Points, we've got it covered. You can also learn how Woolworths credit cards tie into the program, how to manage your account and the difference between Woolworths Rewards and Woolworths Everyday Rewards. Just click one of the buttons below to go to a specific section, or scroll down to find the answers you need.

How can I join Woolworths Rewards?

You can sign up for Woolworths Rewards online via the website, or by calling the customer service team on 1300 10 1234.

To join the program, you'll need to provide your name, email address, postal address and contact number, then verify your account by email. After that, you’ll be provided with a permanent membership card that you can scan to earn and redeem rewards.

I signed up with a temporary card. How can I transfer points onto a new permanent card?

A temporary card is only valid for six months from the date it’s first scanned, so make sure you register your temporary card as soon as possible using the following steps:

  1. Go to woolworthsrewards.com.au.
  2. Click on "Join" and enter your personal details into the sign up form.
  3. Provide your card details under the heading "Now, let's order you a card".
  4. Enter your mailing address and click "Join Woolworths Rewards".

This will activate your account so that the points earned on your temporary card are added to your rewards balance. Alternatively, you can order a new card at any time by logging into your account, selecting "My Account in the top-right corner, then "Cards & accounts" and "Order a new card".

If you don't register your temporary card, it will expire after six months and you'll lose the points you've earned. If you're only using a temporary card, you also can't redeem your points for rewards or access any other member benefits until you get your Woolworths Rewards card.

Are there any other perks?

The Woolworths Rewards program also provides in-store member offers and exclusive, customised bonus points offers, savings on your favourite products and fuel discounts.

What's the difference between Woolworths Rewards and Woolworths Everyday Rewards?

Previously, this rewards program was known as Woolworths Everyday Rewards. But between October 2015 and August 2016, it went through some serious changes. In 2015, Woolworths changed the Everyday Rewards program to Woolworths Rewards. The updated scheme allowed you to get money off your shopping with the supermarket giant by earning Woolworths Dollars on selected items. It also scrapped the option of earning Qantas Points for eligible spending.

Following that change and feedback from customers, Woolworths updated the program again on 31 August 2016. The current program offers 1 point per $1 spent at Woolworths supermarkets, Woolworths online and BWS stores. You then have the option of automatically redeeming points for money off your shopping, saving them up, or converting them to Qantas Points.

What are Woolworths Dollars?

Woolworths Dollars were the currency of the Woolworths Rewards program launched in October 2015. Each Woolworth Dollar was worth AUD$1 off a future spend at participating Woolworths Group stores.

You earned Woolworth Dollars by scanning your card when purchasing selected orange ticket items at Woolworths online, Woolworths supermarkets and BWS stores, excluding Tasmania. When you accumulated 10 Woolworth Dollars, you automatically got $10 off your next transaction in participating stores by scanning your card. As of 31 August 2016, Woolworths Rewards points will be earned on spending and can then be converted into Woolworths Dollars, with 2,000 points equalling 10 Woolworths Dollars.

Is there still a minimum spend to earn Woolworths points?

No. Previously, under the previous Woolworths Everyday Rewards scheme, you had to spend $30 to earn 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent. Following the 31 August 2016 updates, you will earn 1 point per $1 spent at participating Woolworths Group stores.

If you regularly shop at Woolworths and BWS, the Woolworths Rewards program gives you a way to get more benefits from your spending. Hi Gwen,

Thank you for getting in touch with finder.

There’s no maximum amount of points you can earn with your Woolworths Rewards. In addition, your Woolworths Rewards points don’t expire, provided that you keep your account active. Your account will stay active as long as you scan your Woolworths Rewards card in store or use it online at least once every 18 months.

      I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any other enquiries.

I already have a Woolworths Rewards card. How do I check my balance as I have never registered my details to check them online?

    • finder Customer Care
      JeniSeptember 11, 2018Staff

      Hi Harry,

Thank you for getting in touch with finder.

There are two ways you can track your Woolworths Rewards account balance – on your receipt and by phone.

When you scan your card at the checkout, you’ll be able to see your balance at the end of your receipt, along with a summary of any points you’ve earned or automatic savings you’ve redeemed on that shop. If you’ve shopped online, this information will be on your delivery receipt.

You can call Woolworths’ automated 24/7 phone service and follow their prompts. Make sure you’ve got your rewards card handy so you can enter your 13-digit card number when prompted. You can use this service to get your balance, information about your fuel discounts, and opt to have a summary sent to you free via SMS if you’ve registered your mobile number on your account.

      I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any other enquiries.

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

      Cheers,
      Jeni

Can I have my Woolworths points accumulated as I don’t want to have the $10.00 taken off every time I shop and if I can how do I nominate when I can use the points

    • finder Customer Care
      NikkiApril 5, 2018Staff

      Hi Elizabeth,

Thanks for your message and for visiting finder – the leading comparison website & general information service built to give you advice in your buying decision needs. How are you doing today?

You can have your Woolworths points accumulated. To prevent being charged $10 every time you use/purchase something with your Woolworths points, make sure your balance reaches 2,000 points.

When you have earned 2,000 Woolworths points, they will be converted to 10 Woolworths Dollars. You then have the following reward options:

      * Automatic savings. Automatically get $10 off your next shop at a Woolworths supermarket or BWS store when you spend $10 or more on eligible purchases in-store or online and scan your card.
      * Bank your points. Save up your points for Christmas. If you choose this option, your points will be banked and then made available to you in increments of 10 Woolworths Dollars on 15 December 2016. For example, if you earn 10,000 points between 1 September and 15 December 2016, you would get 50 Woolworths Dollars (and $50 off your shopping at Woolworths).
      * Convert Woolworths Dollars to Qantas Points. You can choose to have the Woolworths Dollars you earn converted to Qantas frequent flyer points. With this option, your points will be saved up in 10 Woolworths Dollar increments and automatically transferred to your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership on 15 December 2016. For reference, 2,000 Woolworths points = 10 Woolworths Dollars = 870 Qantas Points.

You can check your Woolworths Rewards points by logging into woolworthsrewards.com.au using your membership number and password. You can then select “My Account” to view your points. I

If you want to see how many Qantas Points you have, you’ll need to login to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.

Please note that we’re a product comparison website and we hold no affiliation with any company we feature on our site. We provide general information on products to assist you in your buying decision process hence we cannot recommend product / service that is rightfully fit for you.
