The winner: It's a close call but we reckon Enterprise wins in the end with its overall cheaper rentals based on our like-for-like search, has cheaper car rental excess on medium and large vehicle sizes and allows additional drivers to be added for free in Australia.

Which is cheaper?
We made identical search bookings with Europcar and Enterprise via their official sites, choosing the same pick-up location, dates, times and driver's age.
To determine which was cheaper we looked at the absolute cheapest vehicle each could provide for our search. Prices were retrieved on 25 June 2018.
Enterprise scrapes in as the cheaper option with a hire $5 less than Europcar.
What are the deals like?
Europcar has a local website that features deals for domestic locations, select vehicle times, dates and early bookings.
Enterprise's deals are more location-specific and heavily based around discounts. For example 15% off Sunshine Coast rentals.
