Editors’ favourite products from October 2018

Alexandra Hourigan 5 November 2018 NEWS

October has flown by and these are our new favourite products from the month.

How we just finished October is completely a joke to me. The month did see some exciting events like Vogue Online Shopping Night and of course, Halloween.

However, this month I really started prepping my summer wardrobe. The weather got warmer and this means that I can purchase everything to get me through the summer months. From holy grail beauty products, hot summer fashion trend pieces and must-have accessories, October had a lot to offer.

So do yourself a favour and fuel your shopping desires with these top products from the last month.

Monthly Favourites:

1. Samantha Wills star sign necklace

Where to buy: Samantha Wills and THE ICONIC

Dainty gold jewellery is my absolute kryptonite. However, the Zodiac series from Samantha Wills was something that I immediately fell in love with and I just had to have one.

These pieces have their own unique touch as you get to sport your star sign. Plus, they are the perfect size for both day and evening wear. I also love the small beads along the chain that just give the necklace that little something extra.

2. Red floral summer dress

Where to buy: Princess Polly, Hello Molly, Beginning Boutique

October saw some warmer days, motivating us to prepare our summer wardrobes. Every girl needs her go-to summer dress and this was immediately mine. The red floral patterning just worked for spring and will take me all through summer too.

My favourite thing about this item is that I can wear it for a number of events. I can pair it with sneakers for a casual look or brown heels for a more dressy vibe. Perfection!

3. Status Anxiety Wild Cat wallet

Where to buy: Princess Polly, THE ICONIC

I'm not going to lie. I definitely didn't need this wallet. I'd bought a new wallet earlier this year. However, when I came across it, I simply had to have it.

Not only is it straight up my alley, but the storage of this wallet is absolutely amazing. The amount of cards and cash I can fit into this wallet without it going bulky continues to astound me, making it definitely worth the purchase.

4. Elle x Quay Australia Sunglasses

Where to buy: Hello Molly, PrettyLittleThing, Princess Polly, THE ICONIC

During winter I unfortunately had to say goodbye to my previous sunglasses. I'd owned them for quite some time and those bad boys had simply seen better days. I was officially on the hunt for some new sunglasses but nothing stood out to me for such a long time. Until I saw these.

The Elle Ferguson x Quay Australia collection is filled with unique styles that are perfect for summer. The best part is that they aren't super expensive either. I absolutely adore how funky these are and that I can flip up the shades too!

5. Leopard print bikini set

Where to buy: PrettyLittleThing

Leopard print is one of the hottest summer trends this season and I am on it like Donkey Kong. However, this bikini from PrettyLittleThing is just that little bit more unique with the bright orange that you'll still stand out from the crowd.

Another reason why this bikini is perfect is that you can buy the top and bottom separately. This means that you don't have to wear the same size top and bottom because let's be honest, practically no one has the same top and bottom bikini size.

6. Kopari Coconut Rose Toner

Where to buy: Sephora

This product was one of our Beauty Products of the Week during October but we simply had to give it another shout out. The Kopari Coconut Rose Toner is a toner, primer and setting spray all in one beautiful product.

This spray is a jack of all trades and seriously makes your skin feel amazing. Not only does it feel splendid but your skin is glowing and gives it that healthy dewy look when you use this spray as a toner.

7. Cotton On woven handbag

Where to buy: Cotton On

The only word I can use for this bag is obsessed. Spring and summer definitely have the woven trend back again for another year.

However, the best part about this bag is that it isn't going to break the bank either. You'll be able to get your wear out of it during the warmer months without having to tap into your savings to afford it.

8. Leopard print body suit

Where to buy: Dissh

As we mentioned, the leopard print trend is tracking full steam ahead this season. There are skirts, bikinis, tops, shoes and bags too. Out of all the print products we've seen, this Leopard Print body suit had to take the cake.

The print on this top isn't overwhelming and the style makes it a great option for the warmer months. The straps and cups mean you can also benefit from a bit of support and the fact that it's a bodysuit is just another big tick in our books.

9. Dyson Airwrap

Where to buy: Adore Beauty, Myer, David Jones

If you didn't read our full Dyson Airwrap review, then let's give you the summarised version. The Dyson Airwrap quite easily replaces every single one of my hot hair styling tools. Without a doubt in my mind, this is one of the best innovations in hair care and you simply have to try it.

Not only will the product protect your hair as it doesn't breach 100 degrees Celsius, but it can style and dry both damp and dry hair. If that doesn't sound like magic then I don't know what does.

10. Alias Mae Amara heels

Where to buy: THE ICONIC, Dissh

I'm so in love with these shoes. If i could marry a pair of shoes, it would be these. The Alias Mae Amara heels are the epitome of a summer shoe. The brown leather straps and the rope thread heel make these heels the ultimate shoe of this season.

Even though they have an 11cm heel, these are quality shoes. This means you'll find it rare to get sore feet but can slip in some gel comforts if you struggle with high heel height.
