Editors’ favourite products from March 2019
It's the first month of Autumn and here are the products we are loving.
1. General Pants basic tees
Where to buy: General Pants Co.
March held one of our favourite shopping events, Afterpay Day. During the 48 hour sale event General pants offered a whopping 30% off sitewide. So, that obviously meant a shopping spree for yours truly.
While I picked up a few items from this retailer, my favourite purchases had to be the simplest. Two basic crop tees that I haven't stopped wearing since I bought them. I snagged them in both black and white and the quality of these for the price point of two for $30 ($15 each) + 30% off is just ridiculous. They're a ribbed material and perfect length that not too much of your stomach is exposed.
If you're a fan of basic tees or just need some new wardrobe staples then I'd highly recommend the entire GP Basics range.
2. Gold Hoop Starfish earrings
Where to buy: Princess Polly
Mini hoops with a dangling feature are a big jewellery trend at the moment. I love this trend so much that I'm not only on this bandwagon, I'm driving the damn thing. These types of earrings work perfectly for both day and night so boom, you instantly get more bang for your buck.
However, these Gold Hoop Starfish earrings from Princess Polly are an absolute vibe. They're sleek and sultry and I'd like to marry them, please and thank you. The hoop itself is also thin and dainty meaning it can work for a number of looks.
3. OLE HENRIKSEN Glow2OH™ Dark Spot Toner
Where to buy: Sephora
If you missed our full review of the Ole Henriksen Glow2OH™ Dark Spot Toner then let me fill you in. If you don't use a toner, are in the market for a new one or already think you've got the best on the market, listen up. This toner is now a holy grail in my skincare routine and I'm completely and utterly obsessed. Let me explain why.
I don't have the best skin but I'm also not totally acne prone. I have very dry skin with some spots here and there and some pretty undesirable texture. After using this toner for a few weeks all my skin concerns practically disappeared and no, I'm not exaggerating. My makeup now glides on like a dream and I've swapped from a full coverage foundation to a bb cream because I no longer need the coverage.
4. Wrangler Drew jeans
Mom jeans are kiiiiind of a huge pain in the behind. Finding a cut that actually works for your body shape is one of the hardest things in this universe. I have seriously struggled with finding a cut that fits my waist and isn't too tight on my thighs. It's like looking for the holy grail.
But alas! I have found it. The Wrangler Drew jeans are my absolute godsend. The waist, hip and thigh ratio is perfect and the high waist is flattering but doesn't go too high up that I look like I'm wearing a denim nappy.
5. Linen Cotton Quilt Cover Set
Where to buy: Target Australia
I'm not really one for spending a lot on bed linen. Sure, some people really enjoy forking out $300-$500 on a pair of sheets but for a serial fake tanner and all round grub, it's a no from me. I'd like to eat my pizza in bed at 2am without the fear of spoiling expensive sheets.
However, I still want my sheets and bed to look nice. That's where the Linen Cotton Quilt Cover Set from Target comes in and boy oh boy is it worth your while. This set is $59 (yes, you read that right) and feels like a dream. It's incredible quality and feels like you're sleeping with a cloud on top of you. For such a cheap price, it's worth giving it a go.
6. Burgundy patent double cardholder
Where to buy: The Daily Edited
It's 2019. I don't think I've carried cash since I got a pocket allowance for unstacking the dishwasher back when I was 10. Carrying around a chunky wallet just isn't worthwhile.
I was a little hesitant when I bought this card holder. What will I do with my obscene multitude of loyalty cards? How will I get that free coffee from that cafe I've only been to once? What happens when I find a penny pick it up and for the rest of the day, have good luck? These were all questions running through my mind because I'm simply that dramatic.
But I can confirm after purchasing one of these, I don't think I could ever go back to carrying a proper wallet. It's super convenient to have all your cards in one place. It fits in your pocket or clutch if you don't feel like carrying a handbag too!
7. Slouchy knit jumper
Where to buy: Glassons
Now that we're heading into the cooler months it's time to stock up on some cosy comfies. This means knit jumpers.
Knit jumpers have always been a favourite and while I own a couple, this one struck me for a couple of reasons. One, I enjoy the print. Leopard print is a huge trend this season that isn't too overpowering. Two, the flowy cut is super wearble – you could tuck it into a pair of jeans or just wear it out. Lastly, it's pretty affordable, which makes this purchase a no brainer.
8. Personalised short ugg boot
Where to buy: Cotton On
Another good buy for the autumn/winter months is a pair of good old fashion ugg boots. These will keep your feet comfortable and warm all through the winter without breaking the bank.
That wasn't what sold me on these ugg boots though. It was the fact that you can personalise them by monogramming your initials and I'm an absolute sucker for a monogram.
9. Bambi Disney graphic tee
Where to buy: Missguided
A little Disney merch never hurt anyone. Now while I own my fair share (a lot), this one is like Disney meets grunge and it's different to anything else I've seen on the market.
The quality of this shirt for the price point is also out of this world. The fit is true to size and you can dress it up with a skirt to go out or dress it down with some jeans and sneakers.
