Editors’ favourite products from April 2019
Take a look at the products that we were absolutely obsessed with over April.
1. Flare Jeans
Where to buy: boohoo
I have no idea when my obsession with this trend started, but I'm so in love I don't ever see it ending. I've always been a fan of skinny jeans and of mom jeans, but now all I want to spend my money on is flare jeans. Pair these with a turtleneck top, boots and a statement belt and your winter look is absolute fire!
If you're going to get one pair this season, I'd have to recommend the Contrast Stitch Flare Jeans from boohoo. These have to be one of the most comfortable pairs of jeans I've ever tried. Your shopping experience is easier because the stretch means sizing is a lot easier. They're also high waisted for a flattering fit and the contrast stitching give that little extra flair (no pun intended) to your outfit!
2. Brixton Athens Cap
Where to buy: SurfStitch
If summer is for wide brim fedora hats, then the cooler months are for cute li'l hats. The black Brixton Fiddler cap was one of the biggest trends from last season. However, in 2019, we're looking to mix it up with a different hat that oozes style.
We're loving the Brixton Athens cap in the shade Merlot. It's got some extra detailing and is a gorgeous rich wine colour that goes oh so well with winter wardrobe fashion. It's also a good weapon against bad hair days, and yes, I'm speaking from experience.
3. Reliquia Zodiac Necklace
Where to buy: THE ICONIC
Layering gold jewellery has been a big trend over the last season, and we genuinely don't see it going anywhere. However, one item that seems to be on everyone's big buy list is the Reliquia zodiac necklace. With a style for each sign, these necklaces are the perfect gift or even something to spoil yourself with.
These necklaces are 18-carat gold filled with a stunning fine chain that is included in the $149 price point. While that may seem pricey, these necklaces are incredible quality, and if taken care of, will last you an incredibly long time.
4. Bondi Sands Aero
Where to buy: Priceline
April saw the launch of the new Bondi Sands Aero tan. The brand released the product at a launch party at Coachella, and we got to try it out soon after. There was a lot of hype from influencers about this fake tan, and we have to say, it completely lived up to the hype.
As a fake tan enthusiast, I know a good tanning product when I see one, and this has to be my new Holy Grail. It's hydrating, super dark (but not too dark) and lasts a pleasingly long time. When I tanned on a Wednesday evening, my tan was still super dark and lush by Saturday that I didn't need a top up!
5. Hair Clip Pack
Where to buy: Princess Polly
Another accessory trend that has popped up over the last month and really taken off is hair clips. It all started with style icon, Selena Gomez, wearing some hair clips on a trip to the shops and the rest is history. Now the style has evolved into big statement clips, bobby pins or little butterfly clips that came straight from the 90s.
Personally, I'm a big fan of less is more, so this hair clip pack from Princess Polly is right up my alley. It's also perfect for those who want to dip their toes in the trend.
6. Glassons Soft Knit Hoodie
Where to buy: Glassons
As much as I love dressing up, dressing down is really where it's at. If I can make something that's comfortable look chic, then you can bet I'm going to get my wear out of it. Enter the new Glassons soft knit hoodie.
If you're going to buy one thing this autumn, then make sure you get your hands on this bad boy. It is easily the most comfortable and versatile item in my wardrobe. Pair it with some sneakers and tuck it into some jeans for a cute outing look or match it with some legging and slippers for a lazy day around the house. VERSATILITY!
7. Tony Bianco Lexie Knee Snake Skin Boots
Where to buy: Tony Bianco
Winter is coming. That means I need to get my annual pair of new winter boots and boy oh boy, 2019's are the pair. I've wanted a pair of loose knee-high boots, and these have easily taken the cake.
They pair perfectly with some stockings and a mini skirt and are without a doubt the most comfortable heels in my closet. What makes these a real show stopper is obviously the snakeskin print. I could've gone for a black pair (and if you want something that matches more of your wardrobe, then plain is probably best), but I simply couldn't help myself.
8. Faux Leather fur jacket
Where to buy: Dissh
I already have a leather jacket. I already have a faux leopard coat. BUT do I have both? No, I don't and I seriously need it.
This aviator style jacket is going to get me all through winter, and I cannot wait to wear it every single day. This jacket is going to keep you seriously warm all through the cooler months, all while looking incredibly stylish if I do say so myself!
One thing I would note about this jacket is that it is fairly oversized, so if you want more of a snug fit, then I would size down.
9. Gold Eyelet Belt
Where to buy: Beginning Boutique
With all the jeans you're about to be wearing, you're going to need some statement belts to liven up the look. Honestly, my belt collection is fairly impressive, but this is such a unique style that it deserves a spot.
My favourite part about this belt is that it's super customisable. You can put the hook into any section so sizing is not a worry!
