With Amazon's mega Prime Day sale now well underway, rival site eBay has announced that it's launching a sale of its own. Kicking off from 8pm this evening (13 October), the shopping platform will slash 20% off eBay Plus badged items for one hour only.

Millions of items from a wide range of categories will be eligible as part of the sales event, helping you get a head start on your Christmas shopping. Just a few of the items you'll be able to snap up include Apple's cult-favourite AirPods, Nintendo Switches, Dyson products and laptops.

How to shop the flash sale

The flash sale will be held exclusively for eBay Plus members, which means that you will need to sign up to take advantage of the deals if you haven't done so already.

In addition to granting you access to the sale, an eBay Plus membership will also get you free shipping and returns on millions of eligible items along with bonus flybuys points and 5% off your groceries when you shop at Coles on eBay.

Membership also comes with a free 30-day trial, making this sale a great opportunity to try it out. You can read more about eBay Plus here.

eBay Australia's Sophie Onikul has said of the event, "We know 2020 has been tough on Aussies financially. And with Christmas just around the corner, we know it's an expensive time of year".

"That's why we're easing the financial pressure by giving eBay Plus members 20% of millions items with a Plus badge between 8 and 9pm tonight."
