Start packing your bags and booking your annual leave, Virgin Australia’s latest offer has made that trip to the City of Angels even more tempting. Virgin has offered Velocity members the opportunity to double or triple their Velocity points on Virgin and Delta flights between Sydney, Brisbane and LA.

Predictably, the more you spend, the bigger the rewards. You can earn double points for Economy flights or triple points in Premium Economy and Business Class. This offer is only available for bookings made by 8 March and for travel between 16th February and 31st May and, just in time for a Californian summer, between 18 July and 16 September.

The flights must be VA coded flights departing from either Sydney or Brisbane and arriving in LA. Please note that codeshare services marketed or operated by partner airlines other than Virgin Australia or Delta Airlines are not eligible for this offer.

How can I activate the offer?

You’ll need to activate the offer before you book the flight, which you can do by following these steps:

  1. If you’re a Velocity Frequent Flyer, you should have received an email inviting you to activate the offer. If not, you can use the following link to add your Velocity number. Select "Activate" once you've entered your details in. https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/content/Promotions/delta-triple-points/

  1. Book a Virgin Australia or Delta Air Lines flight with a VA flight number before the 8 March 2016. Make sure to quote your Velocity membership number at the time of booking. Here's a step-by-step guide of what you can expect and how to book your flights with Velocity.
  2. Travel between 16 February 2016 and 31 May 2016 or 18 July 2016 and 16 September 2016.

Considering you can typically earn between 47,000 for an economy flight, 70,500 for premium economy and 47,000 for a business flight, the double or triple bonus points offer could be a significant boost to your Velocity points balance.
