Best hotels in Downtown Dubai

If you've only got a day or so to explore the delights of Dubai, its fantastic shopping malls and breathtaking highrises, then staying in downtown will put you in the thick of it all.

You'll also be within reaching distance of other attractions by an easy rail journey or taxi ride.

Although most of the hotels downtown are on the pricier side of things, the service and quality of facilities inside the hotels will not disappoint. Armani Hotel and Address Dubai Mall Hotel are both listed on TripAdvisor's Travellers Choice Awards 2019 for their personalised service, outstanding onsite restaurants and luxurious interior design.

Staying downtown is never going to be cheap in Dubai, but The Ramada offers some of the best prices in the area, and that's without skimping on luxury amenities.

Best 5-star hotels in Dubai

It may come as no surprise that Dubai is home to one of the highest concentrations of 5-star hotels in the world. You can find anything from opulent hotels downtown to idyllic beach resorts along Jumeirah Bay. Yes, you'll pay a pretty penny for the luxury of staying in a 5-star hotel in one of the world's most expensive destinations, but it's sure to be an unforgettable experience.

Are you looking for that quintessential Dubai experience, full of glitz, glamour and Arabian extravagance? Then the aptly named, Palace Hotel in Downtown Dubai should suit you well. As well as its impressive arched entrance, it's particularly well-known for its huge selection of fine-dining restaurants, ranging from Asian to South American cuisines.

If you're someone who prefers to stay at an arm's length from the hustle and bustle of the city, why not check out the One&Only The Palm or the Bulgari Resort, both of which are located just moments away from the beach. While the first comes with all the bells and whistles you'd expect in Dubai, the Bulgari Resort, with its subtle tones and spacious villas, resonates with something you'd expect to find in the Mediterranean.

Best cheap hotels in Dubai

Cheap and Dubai are two words that you don't often see next to each other. However, while you might need to compromise on your location and use public transport to get about, finding somewhere more affordable to stay in Dubai is easier than you think.

Most of the city's cheaper accommodation is clustered in Deira, an easy taxi ride from the airport, or Al Barsha at the southern end of the city. Hotels in these neighbourhoods may have slightly less character than others in Dubai, but you'll get a double room for less than $100 a night at the highly-praised Rove Hotel in Deira and much-loved Flora Hotel in Al Barsha.

There's also a new wave of affordable hotels appearing in Bur Dubai, which is a little closer to downtown. It's home to big named brands such as Marriott, which offers double rooms and luxury services from $110 a night, as well as boutique stays.

Our top picks for cheap hotels: Rove City Centre Hotel, Flora Al Barsha Hotel and Marriott Hotel Al Jaddaf Dubai.

Best hotels in Bur Dubai

Bur Dubai is the city's up-and-coming neighbourhood, laden with boutique and hipster hotels, often providing pleasant double rooms for reasonable prices. Sitting at the heart of Old Dubai it offers visitors a more authentic experience as it's a place where bazaars are still the centrepiece and street food is king.

Saying this, there is still a handful of 5-star hotels to be found in the area such as the Movenpick Hotel, which offers the same luxuries you'll find downtown for a fraction of the price.

If you're travelling in a large group or have little ones to look after, the Savoy Crest Hotel comes highly-rated for its babysitting services, and spacious adjoining suites with self-catered facilities. These are also a steal at $100 apiece.

For something that's a little bit different, the Al Seef Heritage Hotel has been designed to resemble a traditional Emirati village but still has all the modern amenities you could wish for.
